but.... the more proto I wear the more WP I get, and the more SP I earn. No one in this game can say they refuse and wisely want less SP.
My proto hives/uplinks/etc. fit better on a proto suit.
My proto gun kills quicker and therefore more SP.
The game then becomes to kill the lesser( std and adv. suits) faster then my teammates...so a challenge still exists...it just isn't determined by my victims.
Do I find myself ever running BPO's? Once in a while when I play alone...but I rarely play alone as I have friends and corp mates. This is a squad based shooter. Actually any fps I ever play is only with friends...(social and micced)
Solution?
Separate skill tiers.
Pretty sure player count can not handle any separation.
My hope...
Introduce a no capped or advanced SP system for noobs and advertise the hell out of the game. When player counts can sustian separation implement it.
The complaints will die if everyone has the option of proto gear...that should be the goal.

I use proto gear because if I don't I die pretty much instantly to pretty much any hitscan weapon.

I technically have the ISK to run nothing but proto, but pubs are obnoxiously easy using BPO and rolling around solo, sooo.....

My whole squad got a hatemail from an RND member yesterday that said "STOP RUNNING PROTO IN PUBS". We all loled a little bit. I don't know what his problem was either. He killed me 3 times.... 
But on the subject of proto gear, I agree with OP. This is a video game. I'm playing it for enjoyment. And I enjoy making more SP with better gear and I enjoy getting more kills with better weapons. If I can afford to run it, I will run it.

All your comment does is prove that the only way to stop it is to make it so that you can't do it, you refuse to acknowledge what is a serious problem leading to such poor player retention that is stopping the game progressing.
You are clearly a griefer who would rather ruin the game for new players than actually have a challenging match against players of a similar gear level
If I was as pathetic as you and played games solely to get easy wins rather than play a game to be challenged and work for a win then I'd just go out and buy myself a trophy that says 'I win' on it and be done with it

But the thing is I never expected the higher SP players to be babysitters. It's funny cause those same protobears you see now will just leave to a new game once they realize their gear doesn't give them a clear advantage.

Nope - they still suck. I only use ADV in pubs and it's pretty much just me stomping all.

7 of my 8 fits are based around the Minmatar Medium mk.0 suit...
all with the combo of 4 complex Damage mods + 1 Enhanced depending on which weapon is fitted to it....and whatever other 2 mods I put in the low slots....
they range from 100,600 isk to 142,800 isk....per death...
sometimes I don't die..(Sniper), sometimes I die 10-15 times..(Frontline)....
why ???
because I can afford to...that's why.....
when I get the SP for a Proto Heavy suit it will be 8 for 8.....
I don't care who wins...I'm just here for the killin'...

I have 19m SP and 416m ISK I have full access to proto gear however I actually have some level of skill and don't feel the need to rely on proto in pub games to do well .. honestly it is laughable that you think doing well in proto gear in pubgames makes you better than someone who does well in ANY GEAR in pub games.
My complaints aren't because it is happening to me anymore, my complaints are that it is severely hurting DUST 514 .. it is a game that I enjoy playing and people like you are sending this game to its grave .. there is a reason the current matchmaking isn't workign and that is predominantly down to the size of the playerbase ... and it isn;t increasing and is infact on a gradual decline over the past 6 months
Honestly you're basically complaining that new players shouldn;t have anywhere or anything else to do other than being protostomped by you in pubgames, seriously do you have any idea how destructive that mentaility is on a F2P MMO ?

Ok. First of all I'm not meaning to be childish and insulting. Just pointing out the facts. Sorry if they are unfortunate. Second, as pointed out earlier in the thread, you're basically equating beating children and throwing babies to wolves to playing a video game. As soon as you start with that BS it is kind of hard to take you seriously. Third, I'm not complaining about anything. I just pointed out that I use proto gear. You don't. OK. Big deal.

I'm glad you found another scrub to agree with you. It's a wonderful idea to call out people for using gear they earned with ISK they earned. It just - makes sense, right? I mean, if you're playing Starcraft 2 you should never get tech 3 before your enemies because, hey, they can't keep up! Right? >_>

1. They aren't facts they are your opinions, you have no evidence to back up your statements and are merely making presumptions.
2. I am using them as examples, I am not directly saying that they are the same thing i'm taking an extreme scenario to emphasise a point .. being thrown to the wolves is a common metaphor and isn't meant to be taken literally .. sheesh I never thought I'd have to explain that to someone

The problem is protostomping in every single gamemode .. there has to be somewhere for new players to go that isn't just a pen for slaughter by the guys using proto .. is it really that difficult for you to understand ? This is a game .. there has to be something fun for everyone who plays to do and right now the fun is confined to 5% of the population crushing the other 95%
4. No one blames Proto gear for every problem or death in this game that's just you expressing a daft opinion with nothing to back the statement up

Sota.. Before i quit playing for 3-4 weeks Any time I saw you in a Pub match you were in proto.
I've seen a lot of your BS posts lately saying you've never ran proto in pubs you go in and try and help new players blablabla Ive ran into you when you were solo and running in squad and I have never seen you in anything less than proto lol

My problem isn't with the use of proto gear itself, it's with the matchmaking system that fails to adequately respond to it.
Team 1: Average Lifetime SP: 15,000,000
Team 2: Average Lifetime SP: 2,000,000
Pub matches shouldn't end up being two six man proto squads from top-tier corps vs. sixteen clueless blueberries. Someone needs to get to writing a matchmaking code that takes some more important factors into account than just first space available.
If I were coding it, I'd base it on total average SP and recent win/loss statistics (get the teams nearly even on average SP and try to get people who are losing a lot on a favored team, and people who are winning a lot on the underdog team) |

The only proto gear I have is my FG suit for added survivability which helps - none. Unlike your accusations I have people who can vouch I don't use proto in pubs. And haven't since Open Beta.

You are clearly a griefer who would rather ruin the game for new players than actually have a challenging match against players of a similar gear level If I was as pathetic as you and played games solely to get easy wins rather than play a game to be challenged and work for a win then I'd just go out and buy myself a trophy that says 'I win' on it and be done with it

I echo this, I rarely run in anything other than militia or standard BPOs despite having plenty of ISK and 22 mil SP.

wow? Umm beating my kids profits me nothing...running proto gear profits much. May be you are trolling and being sarcastic? The way to fix was in the thread...everyone runs proto gear.
