Why, you ask? Because some kid spraying at a Scout can land a lucky 8 bullets and destroy a Scout. So, this month Scouts need to be fixed, because we sure as heck know CCP isn't going to fix anything that lowers the skill gap in this game.
So, fix the Scouts. because they went from usable (hard more) to unusable. Especially now that they have to invest in Dampeners instead of HP, because the Scanner and hit detection/aim assist have offically pushed Scouts off the cliff.

I wouldn't mind getting a ridiculous buff to be OP for a while.
How about 15 m/s movement speed and 25 m/s sprint speed? Also, we jump 10m high and have no fall damage.
Edit: I also want the wind effect LAVs and Dropships get when moving fast while sprinting. |

The no fall damage -or lesser- is something I am considering as a good idea actually.
If you drop an any from the top of the Empire State Building, it will survive. Scouts technically hit the ground with less force than Medium and Heavy Frames, so perhaps they should take less damage?

I'm having the best Scout games of my life since 1.6. But at the same time, I'm dying more as well. I get gunned down 90m+ from Miltia ARs and up all the time. I'll admit, that I should have spec'd into Gallente Scout, but who knew this change was coming? I can adapt to change, but I can't adapt to zero skill spraying. I got against kids that literally spin in a circle spraying because they know aim assist will take care of the actual skill for them.
I have to put on 2 enhanced Dampeners, and run a Scanner just to be effective to the point where its worth my time to be playing the game via that setup. 81 CPU / 27 PG is used up on my suit just so I can factor in playing against the latest changes.
Solo Scout Shotgunning isn't fun anymore, because even if you do well; you've put to much stress into doing it. |

Yeah, i've just started doing the shotgun+scout thing today. So maybe i'm not as burnt out from it yet. And I definitely agree about the lower survivability. It's much lower than my proto'ed Amarr Assault, but I suppose that's the price of being able to one shot people up close.
So i'm guessing you specced into the minmatar light suit? I'm not quite sure what to tell you. You should try experimenting with health and damage mods. Until CCP improves their stealth/spotting mechanics, running dampeners is worthless.

Comparing P/C and Pub is like comparing MLG and Online. P/C has the phycological contract of don't mess around, we are hear to win
Pubs is a bunch of randoms thrown together, all with different ideas of how they spend their time in the game. some take it seriously, others f*ck around, others run around around with Plasma Cannons trying to troll, all the while going 3/30, lol.
Factoring in the mindset of 16 differnt people when they all have different attitudes about the match can lead to a lot more bullsh*t deaths. In P/C, you die (in theory) because you got out played. In pub, so many random factors come into play.
Talk to any MLG player. *ahem* MLG is harder than public matches.

As the scout was designed for mobility, it would most likely come with features to enhance its ability to traverse normally difficult terrain such as the ability to dissipate the force of a fall. |

If you have less mass (Scout suit) you have less Force(Impact) if the Acceleration is constant(gravity). This is why throwing an ant off the Empire state Building can't kill the ant. Because F=.00000000001g x 9.81m^2 = NOT ENOUGH FORCE TO KILL THE ANT!
But this is a fictional video game, so we can stretch it a little. Less fall damage for Scouts, maybe on a percentage scale. Its not fair that a Heavy can fall out of the MCC and survive, but a scout can't!

I think the easiest way to explain it would be to try jumping off of a 10 foot ledge, then try it while holding 50 lbs weights, and see what hurts more

I just use a 483 EHP 'Dragonfly' Scout with a K5 Specialist Shotgun, and it's amazing, and way better than my 600 EHP 'Raven suit.

Listing a good match does not somehow negate whether the scout needs a buff or not, overall relative performance and utility does. Yet listing a 26/4 or 20/1 match somehow negates any overarching trends.
By the very same logic if someone uses the laser rifle user goes 20/1 and another person uses ar goes 20/1, are you going to tell me that the weapons are well balanced and have their own secured utility based on this alone?

Scout is literally the worst suit to snipe in
A real sniper doesn't provide battlefield intelligence, a real sniper leaves no intelligence left on the battlefield.
