rd9 links, advanced hives and f/45 remotes are more than sufficient.... and an injector at any level and used correctly still saves you a clone, and honestly my militia repper has saved many lives though I don't deny the efficiency of the adv/proto versions.
my point is you still have a great advantage with lower tiered equipment and those items should get a cpu/pg increase to bring the logi more in line.
I showed you my cal logi set up once and you said you didn't like it, but I cant count how many mercs have died to it and would disagree with you... or maybe they would agree that they don't like it, but for different reasons....
Nanohives scale horribly and the only repair hives worthwhile are both at proto. There's no dual beam repper below proto and proto injectors are usually a must of you're not using a repper. Increasing the cost would be like making weapons for assaults cost more.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Cenex Langly wrote:Currently the passive logistics suit bonus is +1 hp/second armor repair per level totalling at +5 HP / second repair. This bonus has been the causes of many of my friends using the logistics suit as an assault suit and playing an assault role. It's a really good bonus considering you can use the logistics suit to solo without needing to put the armor repairer module on your low slot! It serves as a complex armor repairer.
In order for the logistics role to be defined more clearly and for those playing the suit to actually use the suit for what it was intended I think that these bonuses should be changed. For example an alternative bonus would be to use the gallente logistics bonus of 5% pg/cpu reduction for equipment per level, totalling at 25% pc/cpu reduction. This is excellent as it means that logistics suits can use the better equipment. This bonus also makes the gallente logistics the number one logi suit that players use as it is the most useful.
All suits should have their racial bonuses revised to be better suited for Logistics roles. But their passives should all be changed from the HP / second repair to the pg/cpu reduction bonus.
What are your thoughts on this?
My suit already has enough pg and cpu to fit everything I need besides it's funny your suggested bonus would free up enough pg and cpu for me to just slap on a complex armor repair anyways. Leave the logis as they are people keep thinking they need to have 0 survivability this is not true.

Jastad wrote:Sorry man, you're wrong here. Cenex is one of the few TRUE logi, and use a True Logi fitting, even in PC. As a Heavy i can tell you the difference :) a core repper on me change my suit. I think is suggest is made to change the logi suit with reason, before CCP take out the Hammer. Because we all know that is bad when CCP use that thing.
Wait, so am I correct in assuming that you're saying that a "True" Logi is only a Logi with you on his Reps Leash?
If so, you're dead wrong, you probably look at Logis as your own personal Reps Slave too don't you?

A LOGI IS A EQUIPMENT UNIT, NOT A REP THE TEAM UNIT!
Every suit basically has a equip except heavy, so for him I can agree he needs a friend, but assaults an scouts have the option for repers, shield regs an a compact nano hive for personal use if you get caught alone for maybe 40 k sp INVEST! |

*runs and hides* Then assaults give up their equipment slot. And their slots. All of them. Sidearms too. That was a horrible suggestion Desperado. Yeah, that would be waaaaay worse than the Sidearm Only suggestion that I seem to be in the minority about (I would welcome such a change as I already run Sidearm primary) I wouldn't mind a No Damage Mods restriction though... I'd rather not draw attention to SMGs, thank you. Damage mod restriction sounds silly since the idea behind a fitting system is to make everything available to everyone. Why not a full on weapon and weapon mod fitting bonus on all assaults?
I meant to reply to this earlier, I wasn't suggesting such a restriction so much as stating that that would be a better restriction than the one suggested by him.
I agree, assault suits should be buffed more than logistics suits should be nerfed.

I'm almost certain I said nothing about Caldari Logistics, or anything about slot layout. I also said nothing about changing the stats on the base shields/armor HP.
I'm just saying to change the logistics bonuses from the +1hp / second to the 5% pg/cpu as the base bonus. Keep the racial bonuses the same or alter them as you see fit.

It's amazing to me how this thread went from being a constructive idea to "what do you guys think about changing this aspect" to something entirely different!
My original post was to give an idea to the community. The idea came to me after I skilled into the gallente suit and realized how efficient my fittings were to perform my logistics role. I can now run all my prototype equipment without the need to use PG/CPU chips in my lows, thereby allowing myself to run a proper tank. My damage sucks, but at least now I can do my logi job better. I can drop ammo and uplinks as well as run a scanner and repair tool, and not just the cheap variants.
Jastad is a better heavy than any of you noobs on here. He doesn't need me to follow him around and keep him alive. BUT, in a PC match when you're fighting some of the best players. The Logi-Heavy tactic is one of the best and most effective in the game. I challenge anyone who isn't sniping with a forge gun or thales to break that combo. After looking at the patch notes for 1.6 we can see CCP wants to make this tactic stronger so that the logistics role for being a support becomes more effective. Just look at the rep tool bonuses.
All you try hards that think soloing is the way to play this game, please, continue soloing and get owned by any good squad and any decent corp out there that plays as a team and does it correctly. If correctly is defined as a logi on a rep tool leash then so be it, that combo is certainly much stronger than a solo assault or solo heavy with a half dozen complex damage mods dancing across the map. Glass cannons don't win this game, teamwork does.
So back to the main point. What do most of you serious logistics players think about changing the logistics suit bonus? Would you all like to see that or do you all like it with the armor repair bonus?

I'm now going to quote your sorry excuse for a rebuttal; let me give you a lesson in survivability. +5 armor / second is already zero survivability. You have to sit in a corner for 90% of the match for this to repair your (what can be 600+) armor. So when you talk about survivability why don't you use that peanut in your skull for a moment to actually understand what this actually does. This passive bonus simply means that you don't need another logi to repair you when you're repairing others. It plays zero role in any fire fight and when it comes down to having to fight anyone this bonus is useless.
GG on thinking another complex armor repairer is going to save you in a fight. I laugh at your types.
