So one starts playing Dust-514, first thing they do is ... "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" and pick a race. After they stick around awhile and gather say 12mill lifetime SP, and FW is about to change radically to be LP and race centric, Will CCP change my mercencary's race for me? |

I'm tired of gallente I hate this pic, I been playing on this acc too long to start another, I put this request in feedback/request section several times to no avail. CCP dosn't seem to care obviously. It's a shame.  |

The new FW LP scheme would hopefully change CCP's stance on this. They need to at least let us change our avatars here to whatever we please

Race has nothing to do with which Militia you join. Amarr could join Minmatar Militia if they so chose.
Race only affects your [STARTER FIT]s

Welk if you like shields and are caldari race with caldari suits yiu get their racial bonus. If your caldari and you like any other races suit you dont get their racial bonus. Thats why race matters. Glory to the state |

Unfortunately we are unable to perform such action at this very moment. If you would like this feature in DUST 514 we would encourage you to post your feedback and ideas on the DUST 514 forums for further discussion. Members of the Dev team really do constantly monitor the forums to get feedback from players, and you may find discussing your idea with other players can help improve it as well. Here again is a link to the Feedback/Requests forum section:

We have many examples of suggestions there making it into the game, so we'd again encourage you to use this channel, as it is both the correct one, and the most effective too.

Race really doesnt matter even with FW. any race character can support any race. Even if they couldnt, CCP would never allow a character to switch race.

We need an option to change our race when 1.6 drops, it's only fair seeing as we will be limited to what factional weapons/equipment we can access based on our starting race, and the only other way to access other racial gear will be through the P2P market, but we still dont have an ETA on that yet either.

Racial bonuses are applied to anyone who wears that races dropsuit ... it REALLY doesn't make one bit of a difference what race you selected when you created your character ... it makes NO difference to anything in the game.
While we're on the subject ... aparently (before I started Eve 5 years ago) your race DID make a difference to things like bonuses on ships, but CCP soon realised after a backlash from the community that this was a bad idea ... we all know how balance can easily sway from one thing to another after even minor changes and living with something OP for 6 months (Eve's build cycle) that only a particular race could use was deemed unfair. |

You won't be limited to anything ... there's nothing to stop you fighting for the faction you support, whether you were born to them or not. |

That isn't how racial bonuses work. I am Caldari, but I get the Amarr Logistics racial bonus from my suit. Race affect nothing but Starter Fits and Roleplaying. Glory to the Empress and the State.

they just need to gives us the option to change forum avatars and which dropsuit displays on the Character Selection screen for your merc. Shouldn't be too hard. 
Maybe even change the station you are housed at ... in Eve you can go to any of the empires' stations regardless. |

I would imagine that there are some slight differences to our clones as dictated by our original appearance. We may all have the same general appearance, I would assume that we would carry our genetic markers into the mold we are formed in, things like eye/hair color, skin tone etc.
I am not saying that we'd have our original individual appearance, just minor telltale signs of it.

It seems to me that the upcoming FW with LP is going to affect this. It would seem that we (dust mercenaries) will need to make a choice of living a mercenary code of highest bidder wins (Public or PC) or put some emphasis on being loyal to a given race and fight FW battles (for better race equipment that will give us an advantage in Public/PC).
As a merc, if all I care about this game (which is fine) is to shoot people in the face, with no regards to meta game, eve, alliances etc., then I suppose I don't care ... if a little LP in this race and a little in that can be traded/sold to build their own fittings.
Not knowing anything about Eve, Eve corporations and Eve Alliances, nor much knowledge of their lore, politics and history (other than the brief couple paragraph descriptions in the guide/wikii's etc.), I don't know, but assume it would be bad for me to try and develop relationships with a Gallente corp/alliance when I'm running around in say a Caldari character.
If FW is to be all about Loyalty and LP, seems it would be best to be of a given race.
How about it Eve players ... do you care if I desire to be loyal to your race and I'm not of it. Do you care if my corp establishes loyalty to a given race (even though there is a mix of races in my corp). Is my ability to establish alliances with eve corps/alliances going to be hurt based on my race.
I'm assume you would care, and if so, I disagree with jenza_aranda's comment

Race and bloodline used to permanently determine your attributes when it came to eves passive skill training, it also determined your initial skills. |
