So one starts playing Dust-514, first thing they do is ... "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" and pick a race. After they stick around awhile and gather say 12mill lifetime SP, and FW is about to change radically to be LP and race centric, Will CCP change my mercencary's race for me? |

It seems to me that the upcoming FW with LP is going to affect this. It would seem that we (dust mercenaries) will need to make a choice of living a mercenary code of highest bidder wins (Public or PC) or put some emphasis on being loyal to a given race and fight FW battles (for better race equipment that will give us an advantage in Public/PC).
As a merc, if all I care about this game (which is fine) is to shoot people in the face, with no regards to meta game, eve, alliances etc., then I suppose I don't care ... if a little LP in this race and a little in that can be traded/sold to build their own fittings.
Not knowing anything about Eve, Eve corporations and Eve Alliances, nor much knowledge of their lore, politics and history (other than the brief couple paragraph descriptions in the guide/wikii's etc.), I don't know, but assume it would be bad for me to try and develop relationships with a Gallente corp/alliance when I'm running around in say a Caldari character.
If FW is to be all about Loyalty and LP, seems it would be best to be of a given race.
How about it Eve players ... do you care if I desire to be loyal to your race and I'm not of it. Do you care if my corp establishes loyalty to a given race (even though there is a mix of races in my corp). Is my ability to establish alliances with eve corps/alliances going to be hurt based on my race.
I'm assume you would care, and if so, I disagree with jenza_aranda's comment

sure, that is what I was trying to say in the OP. But even after being around for awhile, it becomes clear that even intermediate, and in many cases, those that have been around since closed beta have no clue (or being true mercenaries just don't care) about the issues I'm wondering about here. |
