If there will no longer be a pack that gives 2000 Aurum per dollar and active/passive boosters, it's safe to say I'll never be spending any more money on this game.

i tried a W.A.R suit to see what they were like. i placed it in my fittings and it was red. opened up the fit and 2-3 fittings on it i had to replace because i didn't have the skills... skills not listed in the suit requirements which i think is out of order. if they are going to go this way with packs they need to as a minimum :
1) lists all the items on it. 2) list the skills required to use all the items on it.
otherwise i will never buy these items. simple as that. when i bought all my merc packs i knew 100% i could use every item in that pack. all i know for sure about W.A.R gear is with the way this game works on fittings, most if not all of the suits available i am going to have to change fittings on them to use them negating the point of having them

This is how I think the economy should and would work:
All standard items cost much more than they cost now and relative to the ISK payout at the end of a public match. If you lose more than two clones in standard tier fitting in a match you would make an ISK deficit. Militia items would still be relatively cheap but gimped. Standard is the go-to tier. This would make ISK and clone more meaningful and valuable.
Two currencies, ISK and AUR, are enough and they would be exchangeable. SP should be replaced by faction loyalty for the ability to access higher tier items.
Planetary conquest is a great feature of the game, it's the game's high stake ISK venture, but its interface at the moment is terrible. I don't see what should already be in-game: status update and interface to invite solo mercenaries to participate.
The above are my speculations, although if it works out as I mentioned, BPOs would be very valuable.
At the moment, the gameplay isn't too good but I understand CCP is busy making the shooting mechanics right and I commend CCP for putting in the architectural foundation of single shard universe/DUST-EVE connectivity. |

question, if you buy the elite pack, can you use the items with two different characters, like say you have two characters on the same psn id, can you use the blueprints with both characters?,
if not can you assign the pack to a certain character? |

If you quit out of dust and buy the pack in the psn store, you can choose which items go to which character once you log in again

Is disrespectful towards your playerbase to make such an announcement with less than a week.
After buying the Collectors Editions this month budget is gone.

Matticus Monk wrote:I'm going to miss these packs, and BPO's in general. I probably would have eventually bought the Elite pack, but I don't think I can justify the cost at the moment.
I'm curious to see what your replacements are, if any. There is a lot of good feedback on potential future options, and for my 2 cents I think that if you could find a way to make player configurable packs, that would go a long way towards holding onto sales, even without BPO's.
For instance, If I could buy a $20 pack with my choice of:
1 ADV light weapon (50 copies) requiring no prerequisites, w/ maybe 1 enhanced attribute (more dmg than regular ADV weapons, etc....), and unique color scheme 1 ADV sidearm weapon (same as above) 1 ADV dropsuit (50 copies) w/ no prerequisites and unique color scheme 1 ADV EQ item (50 copies) w/ no prerequisites and some enhanced attributes 1 ADV high slot item (50 copies) w/ no prerequisites 1 ADV low slot item (50 copies) w/ no prerequisites 20k AUR (more would be nice) 30 day active or passive booster
Man, it would be so easy to drop $20.
Just provide a menu of options for folks and you'd get all sorts of combos..... For example as a player you could go all scout if you were a specialized scout, or mix and match if you had a flexible playstyle, etc., etc....
Maybe more expensive packs could add vehicles, or use PRO gear (requiring ADV skill level), or provide more copies... etc....
QFT, this is probably the best idea for monetizing Dust that I've ever heard.

I don't understand this, so only consumable BPO's from now on ?
Who is the genius in CCP that thinks this is a good idea ? You may get few try-hard people buying this stuff, but the majority of people will just find another game that is not Pay To Win.
You decided to take the greedy approach with a game that is AVERAGE at best, with not COMPETITIVE value.
If you want to kill the game just pull the plug from the servers, and save whatever little reputation you have left.

This was posted on the 31st of October so they didn't even give us enough time to do anything but to say goodbye to these packs. It sucks they only gave us a 5 day warning about these packs.
I was about buy an Elite pack but my paycheck is not till the 10th. So I guess I won't be buying it because they will be unavailable, and I probably won't be spending ANY money on this game in the future because without blueprints or anything worthy of spending money on I will just have to rely on isk. |

Sorry but this makes me a little red in the face.
5 days warning to pull the only reasonable things to purchase in the game. With no blueprints in the future I don't see a reason to spend money on this game.
I also agree with a lot of the community that the new packs are pretty worthless spanning a wide array of weapons some OK some completely useless and some unusable because of skill requirements. I play a certain class and role and a 99.99 pack that only has 10% of the items I need with 90% of them being useless or hanging out in my assets for eternity.
There are other games outside of this. Why do something like this?

Jadu Wen wrote:For a matter of discussion, how much would players pay for "BPO" suit/vehicle skins?
I think the best pack was the elite pack. You get 4 suits, 4 different guns, and a permanent LAV for $99 and assorted stuff.
I'm not sure I would pay anything above what you pay for an elite pack for something similar. |

I also had a huge disappointment when they announced the withdrawal of these packs, I also feel they are the only value for money products offered in the marketplace and the W.A.R packs are ridiculously poor value and are way too widespread in necessary skills for anyone to be able to make full use of them and the included amount of Aurum is pathetic whereas the merc, vet & elite packs offered items that anybody can use without huge expenditure of SP and made buying Aurum worthwhile as you got something a little more permanent with it. My son had planned on buying me 1 of the packs for Christmas but when they announced the withdrawal he managed to scrape together enough for the veterans pack and paid it into my PSN account only for me to find it was missing from the Store and marketplace. The only Aurum purchases I am ever likely to make now are the occasional 3 day active booster when there is a triple SP event so buying -ú40 worth of Aurum is pointless and I would never buy it at that price anyway so I now have money in my PSN account and nothing to spend it on. I cannot say how utterly disappointed and frustrated I am by this scr3w up. |

The Veteran pack was removed from the PSN store for some regions earlier than 5th Nov deadline.
Response from CCP to a support ticket lodged about it:
"Thank you for contacting the DUST 514 Customer Support! Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Apparently the Veteran Pack was removed ahead of schedule in some regions by SONY.
We can certainly understand this can be a bit of an inconvenience and we can only apologise again for not being able to provide you with a suitable solution at the moment. Please keep an eye on our Forum or DEV Blog for any updates on this issue"
We are still awaiting further information about what happens to those of us who wanted to buy it during the advertised "availability period" but were unable to.

I think what I'm most upset about is that this game would continue but, from where I'm standing it looks like they are letting it go.
I don't think it was a good choice to hide the fact you are removing even the few blue prints available and suddenly spring it on us.

Total spent on DUST 514 to date - -ú85 (used on various packs) for AUR + BPOs.
I joined in open beta and was absolutely shocked to see purchasable DLC for as much as -ú84.99. When do you ever spend money on a beta?! Madness! They should be showing gratitude that anyone did so, not bending us over and shafting us.
Anyway, without BPOs the packs are extortionate to say the least. No way am I buying AURUM anymore.
CCP, you can say what you want about the reasoning, the fact is you just lost a ton of potential income!
Future purchase limit = -ú0.00
