on maps which are too big for 16v16? Doesnt really matter on domination and when both sides bring proto uplinks there will be aswell really quick redeployments. |

I'm a little late to the party.
GG Power Rangers, you won this TDM fair and square (whatever "square" means in such a situation), you won with 22 clones in perhaps the most fun compeitive game I've played.
Now you better win this tourney so we can say, "Yeah we lost in the first round, but at least it was to the dudes winning the entire thing...."

KingBabar wrote:So here we are, days away from the squad cup and you rustians must excuse my pressumtion, but I find it highly likely that our first battle will be against a very strong team, the Power Rangers. And its a game we're very much looking foreward to, we play each other all the time in EU ambush, and many of us have been in the same clan(s) before and know each othe pretty well by now. Besides, we all love Zaria...
A common oppinion for most of us, indeed just about every player in Dust I respect, we are all really sick and tired of the constant nade spam that gradually has become the norm in Dust. I have indeed thrown my share of nades, we still use it against each other all the time, but I bet many of us find the deaths cheap, and the kills less rewarding. Nades are OP and thats that.
Then it occures to me, we have two teams with seasoned players that more or less know each other well. Lets do something here and show the rest of the community how a de-nade-spammed Dust looks like. I can record and I bet more people can too. And honestly, it would be a blast to play against such great players in an actual tourney, with a removed mechanic resulting in a drastically changed combat environment.
- I hereby challenge team Power Rangers to do this battle against us totally nade free. Well AV nades are ok. Lets play Dust with gungame and tactics, not the usual explosive spam, just this once...
I find it interesting about your gripe about made spamming, . . . werenGÇÖt you one of the numbnutts that began this whole fiasco? Funny if you still use them, then why the hypocritical chatter?
As for the challenge, I would be completely ALL about a match that was devoid of grenades. The funny thing is, it because a conscious decision, which the amount of energy that a person will devise that it (i.e., the act of not using grenades) will take, they will chose the path of the least resistance, throw nades and be done with it. Call it love and war.
But if you could throw a match, say in contracts ( OH SHITE! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?!?!?) and even have a modest entry fee (50,000 -200,000 ISK for the space rental, retail at the event, ya you know ... ). Say willing to run at least full advanced, potentially at least a protosuite, not necessarily complex all the way ( say avg cost 35,000-115,000 per suit cost) put the money derived from salvage, the money from entry fees, break it up amongst the top 5, . . . well that colds be some go, wholesome fun. |

I've used nades more than most, but I would hardly call it spamming. There is a difference between tossing nades vs groups, or indeed throwing one to start an engagement like I mostly have done. It is a whole different matter to stand on a hive and toss 15 nades in succession in the general direction of the enemy, like I have seen in so many CBs and from certain induvidials and corps in pub games.
I still use core locus nades in all games and will continue to do so, though with a little less "spam" involved than many others. Being among the best naders in Dust it would be silly of me to not take advantage of it. It is a broken mechanic, a general nade nerf is long overfue IMO, it seems like the only way we can fix the current situation.
It was really refreshing to have such a "gentlemans agreement" and having both teams sticking with it. This was the first and it might be the only competitive game in Dust that had absolutely no explosive spam.

Being even later to this party, man that game was such a blast, really GG everyone and without those grenades made it "The" best game ive ever played in dust.
When the game started, i was literally shaking from the pressure adrenaline combo and that is something i normally only feel in games where if you die, you loose everything.
Really awesome everyone! |

Losing doesn't deter bad players from using easy weapons.

In the final your team (bad players) used easy weapons & lost... You spammed Mass drivers & we completely and utterly facerolled you. The first game was 60-8 when we destroyed your MCC & the second game was so one sided your team felt the need to redline snipe... In a 6v6 tournament final. I'm not mad. I'm just right.

When its 16 vs 16 and the entire opposing team is spamming Mass Drivers, grenades and some *ss Logi put the field full of equipment, my Ps3 almost has a heart attack and freaks out, drops his FPS and leaves me hanging with 1 cm per second aiming movements in CQC, if i am then using a Imperial SCR hit detection goes out the window, then my gun slows down to 1 shot every 2 seconds. then i die from 3-4 shots somewhere in my vicinty.
With this 6 vs 6 i had none of the issues above, the results were quite clear and it was a pretty fun light match with not much pressure at all.

Back from my "longtime vacation". God i was happy i didnt get stoned to death by grenades left right and centre and for a change had normal gunfights. So yeah was a fair match bad to bad that probs the two best teams in that tourny had to fight in the first round.
I shall show you a world, a world which you cant imagine, a world full off butthurt n00bs at the other end of my gun
