Match making needs to be revisited.
- In the 5 games that I left battle before I rage quit off my squad of 2 was set against a team of two fully set squads of the same corp. Not one squad was formed on my team. It was essentially full of solo players. That is fine, if they were playing other teams of all solo players. My squad of 2 was the only squad. How can a "successful" match maker consistently screw this up. It's come down to the point that I only run pub matches because I can't stand PC. Pub matches are the only thing I play these days. When you take that away from me then it's time to find a new game. I can guarantee that many people feel the same way.
AR Damage and Damage Mods
- WTF is this. We all know that these assault rifles are so extremely over powered that no other weapon holds a candle to them. To fix this all we need to see are damage mods revisited, with proper stacking penalties and a reduction of the damage bonus. Complex Damage Mods should not be at a 10% bonus. When one damage mod can increase your damage almost more than 5 levels of proficiency, something is wrong! Reduction of damage also needs to be addressed with assault rifles in general, though I think the damage mod stacking would handle the problem quite well. I think a 2% - basic, 3.5% enhanced, and 5% complex would do it (though we all know CCP hates fractions, so this would never work)!
ISK PAYOUT
- Increased reward of ISK after battles. A measly 200k payout for a REALLY AWESOME match sucks horribly. I can no longer afford to run my prototype suits in pub matches because of this. What happened to the games where my 3500+ war points paid out 600-800k isk!? What happened to my 1500+ war points paying out 300-450k isk? Why did the isk payouts drop so crazy. Was it because of taxes? We've lowered our corp taxes to almost nothing so that our members can get the most out of their matches since they're paying out so low now.

You're not meant to be able to run protosuits all the time in pubmatches off just pubmatch income unless you're actually good at it. |

what dust needs is a respec...
I have sps in vehicles, swarms, PLC.
some vehicles get removed, others get completely changed. swarms gets soon nerfed to not be able to take down lavs and dropships and will take half a minute of shooting to scare a tank. PLC is still full of bugs since it was introduced.
I also wanted to try something fun, like scouts, but oh wait, there are screwed too....
CCP is continously changing the way I wanted to play, my choices were made invalid, thus there needs to be a way to reallocate SP asap.

Matchmaking doesnt feel like its working, pretty sure they turned it off when people were complaining about having to wait several minutes to get into matchmaking. Even if it is working, I cant even begin to tell you how many times I've had to go up against a full proto squad with a team of std and mlts and lets not get started on the 2v12s and 6v16s. Matchmaking doesnt need tweeking, it needs another overhaul seeing as its not much different than before other than the introduction of uneven teams. |

MM always seems to put 2-3 squads on one side and then 1 squad and lonewolves on the other. I have been on both sides and have seen this trend carry on and on, it is getting rather old. Fix the damn MM or revert to none, 1/3 of the battles are good with 2/3 being lopsided. |

While I definitely want a finished product that you can actually plan around changes are going to happen.
We've all been hit by major changes to weapons and they have never given a respec, everyone is always told the NO RESPEC line. I'll kind of be offended if they give respecs out for this but not for all the other times. |

Yes, this is obvious. But when I can't even run one protosuit because the payout won't cover that, it's pretty sad. And for the record, my protosuits used to cost about 220-250k depending on the proto weapon that I put on. Now they cost me 140k because I could never support the previous cost. |

matchmaking doesn't/ won't work because of the small player base.
while I believe some other weapons need a buff I just don't believe ARs need a nerf assault rifles are deadly in real life, just like in game...I believe that's why they are the preferred weapon of militaries... and the dmg mod being almost equivalent to 5 prof... don't forget you need to level weapon mods to 5 to get that 10%, so that's kinda balanced as well...
as far as isk payout is concerned... I really don't know what ccp is thinking with the way it works now and im not quite sure if its even working right... I think its broke...and I hope they fix it... but you can make a good profit if you have a few fits that are cheap or free that you can mix in with your protos...not every match requires a proto suit... especially the ones where your team has given up. |

Also perhaps the reason you had a really awesome match was because the other team was using mostly militia and standard fits? Thus your team didn't destroy that much ISK, hence the low pay out. |

This AR stuff is kind of ridiculous, though. I'm not sure adjusting damage output is the right option; my main grudge is against its range and accuracy. I don't understand how I'm getting beat and forced to retreat halfway across the map using either a Scrambler Rifle or a Laser Rifle, both of which should be more effective at longer ranges. The AR is supposed to be a closer-ranged weapon; I shouldn't be taking significant damage from it when I'm on top of the highest building at the old dust bowl map and they're across the map well outside of the city (yes, that happened).
I'd prefer the range to be actually meant for closer ranges and for the bullets not to be able to travel in a completely linear path across the entire map; nevertheless, +1 as a possible modification. |

You can't decide what goes in each update. Even CCP doesn't decide that. They claim that as certian projects get finsihed they get loaded onto the next patch. If they finish something simple like "Changing the name of the MMC" before Match Making, it goes into the next patch. By this conclusion, the really big and complex things won't be done for a while. Kind of like getting your french fries before your steak. Your steak takes longer to prepare... so the kitchen send out the french fries first...
Of course, that logic completely FAILED when the issue of the Flaylock came about. They had that thing fixed within a month. People made such an out cry, and it was something CCP actually knew how to fix, so they acknowledged it and fixed it faster than anything in this game... They looked like heroes that actually Championed what we wanted in this game... everything else... not so much...
They don't acknowledge bigger things, because they don't have the fixes for them yet. If they did, they wouldn't sit on it. |

This eliminates Protostomping. Less of it occurs when a player actually stands to lose something. Of course, I only hear "You suck if you can't afford to use Proto is Pubs" by players who belong to multibillion dollar corporations... |

Why does matchmaking have to be revisited? It hasn't even been done, per se. So I really wonder why you think there is any matchmaking in DUST. DUST has never had proper matchmaking ... ever.
What it does now is gather up somewhere near 32 players that are willing to play the same type of battle. Regardless of the results of the odd selection mechanism that puts one player on the left and 16 on the right. How that can be okay from a coding viewpoint is beyond me. Maybe it is really difficult to do in Ruby.
The latest Player tweak to getting two squads of the same corp in a battle is to have everyone in the battle finder. When the two leaders are on Corp chat (or any voice chat) they select the same type at the same time. Once they start seeing results they tell their squads and if everybody has the same deployment area ... they are golden. Others are toast in many cases. It is legit and helps get corps to play together.
Being on the other side definitely sucks.
As far as ISK payout have you been gone for awhile? The numbers have been steadily dropping since 1.3, at least. Sometimes weekly. CCP/Shanghai would never admit how it works so we are left guessing. One might suspect that they lowered the payout so players, Proto Stompers like you in particular, will lose ISK. A consistent tactic of CCP/Iceland, from what little I know about EVE. There it is all about farming ISK safely, selling stuff and getting better gear while you wait for months before the next Skill has enough Passive SP to activate it.

Protostompers like me? ha ha ha ha ha. I haven't used a protosuit in a pub match since late August! Anyone who I face will know this as true. Anyone in my squad will hear me rage to all hell when I die so easily from my basic SEVER M-1 and Minmatar logi M/1 suit.
I haven't just stopped playing the game. I've noticed the horrible payout for some time now, I just thought it necessary to make the post at this particular time.
And as far as I can tell from all of you, none of you have a clue about numbers. When you have a match that requires 32 individuals, and there are something around 3500+ people logged in at any given time. You cannot use the "lack of playerbase" as an argument. You can simplify this problem and divide 3500 three ways for the three different match types. Even better, divide it 3+4 ways to include faction warfare as well as the three match types, and you still have an incredibly large pool of players to choose from at any given time to form one match. It's not hard to get two sides evenly matched. It's not difficult to write a line of code to avoid same corps from being on the same side against an opposing team of all solo players.

LOL I wanted to say it first, but yeah. No. You can't respec any tree in eve. You just remap your attribute points so that SOME trees will train faster than others. Which makes a significant difference if you decide you're going to be training, for example, spaceship command for the next 6 months, and those attribute points required for those skills will reduce the training time by days/weeks, in some cases!
