I believe mass drivers should have their blast radius lowered, RoF lowered and not be able to refill near nanohives.. Might say That makes them suck blah blah blah but I'm sick of them spamming an objective. Especially when Logistics with a MD with nanohive is unbearable. |

I disagree on not being able to refill ammo, MD chugs ammo like a MF. Somewhat agree on blast radius reduction, MD needs to be a bit less forgiving for missing by a mile. |

Yeah,yeah,yeah all I see here is people think I'm stupid or whatever but I got killed by a mass driver that was around the corner.. the spammer never even got to see me vise versa.. People are using them to spam objectives so the enemies can't hack it. Good crowd control weapon, gets the people moving and lets your team pick off anyone who scatters.
I just skilled into it the other night. Run it with a STD Flaylock Pistol, STD Remote Explosives. I'm a running bomb. Plus 2 enh. cardiac regulators. I'll get them proto soon. |

I don't mow people down. Honestly I only had one good game with that fit. 10 2 5. Personally I before a TAR in my hand than a mass driver. But honestly if I see a group a of reds hell yea I'm gonna pop some rounds off, I want my team to win. I play by myself a lot too so haha no way am I getting an orbital by myself. I'm still trying to get use to the aiming properly with it. Height and distance all that crap. |

Hello Kira! Been around these parts for a while and the MD has gone through many tweaks, it was powerful, nerfed, and now usable again. It sucks to get killed by them, but they are pretty good where they are in my humble opinion. Consider attacking a mass driver user from a different angle. They are easier to evade if you have the height advantage, or can sneak up on them.

No, I make calculated shots and compensate for ballistics physics on the fly with the MD. You apparently seemed to make the mistake by treating it like an AR. And if we are on equal ground and you can hit around the corner that is a bit OP if you ask me. And AR's range also needs to be fixed well almost every weapon needs to be fixed in a sense.. I've been using the MD since Chromosome and seen just about any excuse, most of which come from people that treat it like another hitscan weapon. It's very situational and in most cases, still gets overpowered by generalist weapons within its own niche. There's also the issue of DPS vs alpha damage weapons that many people don't understand either. If you start taking damage from a MD, don't sit there- get the hell out! Obviously it pisses you off, but that's what the MD is designed to do because it's a terror weapon, meant to terrorize you. |

It is a spamming weapon other than long range shots, I have prof 3 in MD but I find it boring. |

LOL, no. That was me screwing around, then choosing to snipe one person, then went back to AFKing with my MD.
TBH, the MD is in a great place right now. I don't use the MD as much as I used to, since I'm playing a lot with the GK burst AR in preparation for the Combat Rifle's release. But I still revert to using it in challenging games, and in matches were the enemies aren't respecting proper formation. When you get redberries bunching up behind cover, I take my death with dignity and bring out the EXO to exact punishment and remind them of proper flanking and fall-back maneuvers.
In the end though, I'll continue to adapt my MD gameplay to whatever changes the Devs bring down on us, while the rest of you continue to scurry around as usual and whine when you die.

They run around with their EXO-5 like it's a damn shotgun, trying to jump over their own blast radius. I usually sit back and take them out with a few direct hits from +40m. It doesn't terrorize me because I use it and understand it- something you might want to try before coming on the forums whining. I have Prof 5 and guess what? I get more kills with a militia AR because it's situational, not a good 1v1 weapon, shoots delayed rounds, and has the worst ammo management, only rivaled by the plasma cannon. |

That was me screwing around, then choosing to snipe one person, then went back to AFKing with my MD. TBH, the MD is in a great place right now. I don't use the MD as much as I used to, since I'm playing a lot with the GK burst AR in preparation for the Combat Rifle's release. But I still revert to using it in challenging games, and in matches were the enemies aren't respecting proper formation. When you get redberries bunching up behind cover, I take my death with dignity and bring out the EXO to exact punishment and remind them of proper flanking and fall-back maneuvers. In the end though, I'll continue to adapt my MD gameplay to whatever changes the Devs bring down on us, while the rest of you continue to scurry around as usual and whine when you die. I can get a little spammy when I'm startled. Walking around a corner into a heavy or two with squadmates gets my heart racing. I'll unload what I got (<=6) as I back-peddle out of there.
Also, in particular, that map with the bridge. It often gets to be clogged up on either end, so I send shells into the cover. I'm not trying to get kills, but they come, I'm trying to pin them down and force them out the other side so they can get AR'd to death.
But no, no Proto for me. Adv gear and suits, and with that, I don't sacrifice my tank to fit Proto weapons, even though they're skilled as such. |

I'll tell you how I die the most in CCC as a masshole. Shotty in the back. As an armor tanker, I do my best to avoid CCC because if I get squeezed, I usually kill myself. The shield-tanking bunny hop doesn't save me. Face to face, I own shotty scouts with a MD. But I leave that engagement wounded, usually deep into armor.
The great thing about facing other MD users, is the sound. You can hear where they are. And depending on the situation, you can out maneuver them. Generally, if I land the first shell, I win the duel. |

I guess you don't read my other posts... Most weapons need to be fixed... Either way AR's have a fast RoF and more ammo per clip.. If you want to do it damage wise.. It takes an AR about 20 or so bullets if accurate enough to kill a militia and sometimes adv about 30-40 to kill a proto depending on what do you want it's an AR.. MD is like a grenade launcher which can kill in 1-3 shoots if accurate.. AR's range needs to be nerfed but guess what MD range damage is the same no matter what it seems to me.. Each gun has it's ups and downs.

The AR doesn't need to be nerfed. Your combat tactics needs to be buffed. This is the only game I've heard people complain about the range of AR when they get killed from the same distance in other FPS titles but don't say jack ****.

The good news is all ARs will have their range adjusted down. CCP is just waiting on the rest of the rifles to get released, as they will fill in the range gaps which would be left if they dropped it now. |

So you are complaining that the area-denial and breaching, area of effect weapon was doing its job? Very few weapons outdo the AR in their own niche, the MD is one, it doesn't need a nerf!
Also you didn't get hit by an MD at 120m, the slug doesn't travel that far, bit goes about 90 tops, not to mention its only scoped for 40m, and takes nearly 3 secs to travel that distance!
What suit were you using, was shield or armour tanked? |

And I was armor but at the same time all I hear from you guys are it's doing it's job and that is fine.. a sniper is an area denial weapon and HMG is a breaching weapon.. snipers are easy to dodge if you know where they are coming from. HMG normally get spammed or duvolle. To me MD don't have any real weaknesses.. except for CCC but most are in hard to reach places. |

As a MD user myself i have to disagree that they have no real weaknesses. They have quite a few, some of which will kill you.
Ammo is perhaps the most annoying. It generally takes a nano hive to bring our ammo capacity up to what a stock AR has (without a nanohive).
Terrain can also be a disadvantage. If we have the high ground we will have better accuracy, usually dominating the area. Being below our target however is a completely different story. Its insanely hard to land an uphill shot with a MD, requiring you to land a direct hit. With travel time thats uncommon unless people stand still. If you shoot low you can also clip the terrain early hitting yourself.
As i watch what people do when faced with a mass driver, the biggest thing i see that surprises me is they ignore it. I can make it very clear i am denying a specific area, or hallway or what have you, and they will keep trying to push through it.
So if you're having trouble with MD's play smart. Take the high ground, fight on your terms. The worst thing you can do is not pull back. |

most people with brains have supported what the OP is saying from the beginning. CCP is the worst dev at doing splash I ahve ever seen. who gives someone 60% of direct damage for missing in a shooter?
splash for handheld weapons should be 1m and 30% of direct damage. |

This bolded bit is not necessarily true. My longest MD kill is 108m, and during my brief AFK-in-Skirmish stunt, I would shoot up at my own MCC, trying to get shells into the bay. The HUD stated a range of 150m, and the shells would explode at the bottom of the scale on the open door of the MCC.
I believe the shell is capable of traveling around 150m, though kills at that range are mostly luck, and are probably taking advantage of kill-stealing.
Shooting from the table-top, I've tried shooting shells out as far as I can, and they do disappear after an unknown distance. I don't know if that is due to being un-rendered, or if the game just deletes them after traveling a set amount of meters without exploding. |

This is what the MD is designed to do. It is area-denial. It is forcing you to fall back and reposition.

Yeah, I actually do spam the MD, especially at the objectives, while my teammates with the assault rifles move in for the kills. It's called an area-denial weapon for a reason, and it also weakens idiotic red dots who are dumb enough to remain within an area being MD'd, enough so the AR folks can usually put 'em in the ground 6 feet under shortly thereafter. |

Explosives, rapid fire explosives doubly so are pure area denial weapons. If someone is using one to deny you that zone, do not push through, sneak around behind, change positions, get the high ground. Mass drivers have huge drawbacks compared to more standard weapons. Taking advantage of these is key to beating them. Hell I had one guy sneak up behind me with an MD. I managed to dodge the first shot because I heard him fire it from behind (7.1 surround sound headset) and then zig zag at him with my smg. Once I was in his face it was over for him. |

Besides if thats the only downside you can think of you can't have actually used one. Low ROF Low DPS Low Ammo Friendly splash damage Long Reload Lobbed projectile Slow slug velocity high pg/cpu lack of shield damage
Only bad snipers are easy to dodge, hmg is used because its a good cqc weapon, you sound a bit bitter! Do you use a plasma cannon? |

Mass drivers are spot on. They SUCK in CQC. They SUCK in 1v1. They are EXCELLENT at area denial, i.e., covering objectives.
If you want to change a weapon, lower the damage by only a few points of the AR and SAR. Reduce the bonus of Damage Mods. Increase the stacking penalty of damage mods. That will make things much better. |

Of weapon slot items (S/L/H) the worst is the Forge Gun. Heavy suits lack an equipment slot. On my Main-Character when the rounds are low and begging for a nano-hive fails I have to hoof it to the nearest Supply Depot. My Sever Medic Alt with his hives runs out of ammo far less. |

OP, stop socking, i used to be a pure MD user but i seldom use it anymore, i instead shotgun and AR cuz time to kill with MD is shyte, if you die often to them it's cuz your are bad, or place yourself in vulnerable position for rooftop camper to BBQ you, it's a niche weapon FFS and area denial, go back to your drawing board and get better, stop qq'ing |
