LOL, no. That was me screwing around, then choosing to snipe one person, then went back to AFKing with my MD.
TBH, the MD is in a great place right now. I don't use the MD as much as I used to, since I'm playing a lot with the GK burst AR in preparation for the Combat Rifle's release. But I still revert to using it in challenging games, and in matches were the enemies aren't respecting proper formation. When you get redberries bunching up behind cover, I take my death with dignity and bring out the EXO to exact punishment and remind them of proper flanking and fall-back maneuvers.
In the end though, I'll continue to adapt my MD gameplay to whatever changes the Devs bring down on us, while the rest of you continue to scurry around as usual and whine when you die.

I can get a little spammy when I'm startled. Walking around a corner into a heavy or two with squadmates gets my heart racing. I'll unload what I got (<=6) as I back-peddle out of there.
Also, in particular, that map with the bridge. It often gets to be clogged up on either end, so I send shells into the cover. I'm not trying to get kills, but they come, I'm trying to pin them down and force them out the other side so they can get AR'd to death.
But no, no Proto for me. Adv gear and suits, and with that, I don't sacrifice my tank to fit Proto weapons, even though they're skilled as such. |

I'll tell you how I die the most in CCC as a masshole. Shotty in the back. As an armor tanker, I do my best to avoid CCC because if I get squeezed, I usually kill myself. The shield-tanking bunny hop doesn't save me. Face to face, I own shotty scouts with a MD. But I leave that engagement wounded, usually deep into armor.
The great thing about facing other MD users, is the sound. You can hear where they are. And depending on the situation, you can out maneuver them. Generally, if I land the first shell, I win the duel. |

Also you didn't get hit by an MD at 120m, the slug doesn't travel that far, bit goes about 90 tops, not to mention its only scoped for 40m, and takes nearly 3 secs to travel that distance!
What suit were you using, was shield or armour tanked?
This bolded bit is not necessarily true. My longest MD kill is 108m, and during my brief AFK-in-Skirmish stunt, I would shoot up at my own MCC, trying to get shells into the bay. The HUD stated a range of 150m, and the shells would explode at the bottom of the scale on the open door of the MCC.
I believe the shell is capable of traveling around 150m, though kills at that range are mostly luck, and are probably taking advantage of kill-stealing.
Shooting from the table-top, I've tried shooting shells out as far as I can, and they do disappear after an unknown distance. I don't know if that is due to being un-rendered, or if the game just deletes them after traveling a set amount of meters without exploding. |

This is what the MD is designed to do. It is area-denial. It is forcing you to fall back and reposition.
As for being behind enemy lines, a smart Masshole is usually behind his own line, providing support. That could explain why you run into them. Granted, there are many people who rush in with MDs too. Hell, even I get bored.
