Remotes are awesome. I don't think I'd skill them to proto since three seems to be enough and I need my slots for my scanner/nanohives. Definitely some of my most entertaining kills have come from using them. |

I do believe they are the worst way to die. The first time I died from them I was WTF? That's all it took for me to start using them myself. WTF I can't move, my gun won't fire, did I freeze? A DAMM remote, huh? I'm getting those! |

Best kill with remotes is 14 out of 16 inside a indoor objective. Scanner and remotes are the perfect couple |

I know your name. I joined an Ambush map which was already in progress. I spawned on an uplink, looked around while cloaked, and there were no Reds near. Then I was flying through the air. Yeah, the kill screen, that is where I know your name from. I am assuming it was a scan trap, as I looked all around and did not see you before the detonation.

Scout suit + RE = one hell of a defensive weapon. I'm having a blast seeing how long I can hold down a node by myself; best record currently is going 12-0 over the course of a match without having the node or CRU hacked. Fun really kicks in when you see three or four red dots light up your scanner and work their way towards you... |

Well they're technically the only weapon you can score kills from when in a bleedout state if timed right. Again that takes a bit of chance to pull off.
What Remotes are most effective for is rush hacking an objective (Minmatar preferably). As you move up to an objective place remotes directly leading up to and on the objective. While keeping you detonator active you can begin the hack. In cases where you complete the hack and have a window to escape, the area is primed to prevent counter hack opportunities, or buy time to successfully transition a null canon state. However, if the enemy gets the drop on you before a complete hack, you simply disengage and either immediately detonate, or take your chances on a bleedout detonation when red dots try to resecure the objective.
Regardless, all strategies are countered by a well placed flux. So all is fair here. |

Begin hacking
Watch radar
Stop hacking to detonate when reds roll in
Continue hacking
Toss down next RE on hack point
Move along as appropriate

Man oh man, a remote thread. I love these explosive devices. When I first got blown up by hacking an obj. I had to try it out myself. I got the the F/45s for faster detonation. I'm still iffy about the boundless, for one, they don't show the accurate blast radius. I wish a boundless can withstand a standard flux, but it ain't gonna happen.
Match I had today went 14/6 using REs as primary and NKs. I love holding down objtvs. by myself. I love watching their shells flying great distances, when they sprint they FLY even faster!! hahhaa. It's also awesome when they are firing at you and with the flick of the wrist KAABOOM.
In my mind, I wish we can see more realistic explosion damage. A mix of blood and smoke and mangled bodies. They are clones after all. Does anyone have experience with the boundless? |

The lower set time of the basic can be an advantage against flux. A flux will not destroy them before they set, I've tossed them down while a flux storm is going off.... the the opponents come running to the corner thinking all clear....BOOM

Boundless shine when you start seeting up larger minefilds or guarding multiple chokepoints, being able to have 5 deployed with another 4 from a set of F/45s gives you alot of coverage and 2 fireing groups, you can cover 4 shokepoints that way easily.
i usually setup in two firing groups, one outer layer and an inner layer used as a means of retreat or for when a push is big enough to breach your main line.
i dont have bounless though so i just use f/45s as outer defence and regular remotes as my inner safeguard.
your faster set should always be your outer ring due to the need to redeply them in a hurry for a quick reset |
