Oh, hi there Adamance. Switching isnt an option indeed, didnt notice that of all persons I was talking to you.
Yeah, it is weird, I know. I also learned to love armor tanking my ships in EVE, but in DUST dual tanking gives better results than pure armor from what I can tell so Im not complaining. It would also make us too similar to the gallente suits, I preffer the current model, but I know from where you are coming from. |

Do it CCP. #Nike514 Or more built in armor on the suit, like Amarr should typically have, right? Or a high armor bonus or resist. I guess right now it looks like Gal are better armor tankers with 3 slots. Especially if you wanna run a rep
Keep as is, but give all assault suits a tank effectivness perk
Amarr: +2% Armour Plate Module Efficacy +2% Sheild Extender Module Efficacy
Caldari: +2% Sheild Extender Module Efficacy
Gallante: +2% Armour Plate Module Efficacy
Minmatar: +1% Armour Plate Module Efficacy +1% Sheild Extender Efficacy
This will make amarr the best dual tanks! |

High slots are better served with CDMs, that bonus to shield extenders is out of place specially when you consider we could only fit one or two below prototype level. Bonus to armor plates is a bit less effective because of the low slots count too.
Overall, although dubbed dual tankers I tend to rely more in the armor. Shield is just a slightly bigger than normal buffer with no modules dedicated to it and armor tends to end up with almost double or more than the shield value and all available slots.

Think this way: in the end the shield is just slightly better than normal, only worse than Caldari shields, while the armor is slightly worse than Gallenteans ones, which kind of makes sense lore wise. When fitted, if you use damage enhancers the natural complement is armor modules, which results in the Amarr ideal of lots of damage and armor. True there is more shield than normal, but it doesnt even compare in performance to that of a Caldari suit, plus it makes sense for our shields to be more sophisticated than that of the Minmatar for example. At least untill they fit dedicated shield modules, which they do, and make sense.
As for the slots... Its also pretty amarrish if you ask me. Tough, inflexible, in all ways, just like the Maller. Well, that is how I go about it at least. Think about it. |

Uff again the slots are less because NO ONLY we have more Stamina than other races variants , but we have the higher HP values, good overall stats (That are important while using PASSIVE skills), and more CPU - PG than other variants of other races , avoiding the use of CPU-PG enhancers.
I mean ATM i have a Amarr Logi ive been testing. Level 3. It has 362 Shields 423 Armor (total 785 HP), Active scanner, basic Nanite inj, nanohives,GEK,Toxin SMG,Locus Grenades all for the price of 40k LOL. Id like to see other ADV sutis reach almost 800 EHP while not sacrificing a single slot for it...(Other stats:SPrnt Speed 6.4/Stamina:147/Shield recharge rate 17ps/Armor repair rate 6.97 (i only have 1 basic armor rep equipped...))
I mean, people, please ,why are you trying to break the Amarr suit. If you want to substract 20-30 Shield value for 20-30 armor value i can live with that, but besides taht , we dont need no slots, etc.... Logi 100 shields 200 Armor Assault 150 SH 210 Armor Heavy 305 Shields 505 Armor
But thats it

Omen is indeed a pretty decent cruiser, but I always liked the Arbitrator more. I mentioned the Maller because this discussion made me remind this, relevant quote below:
Azual Skoll wrote: Few ships embody the principles of Amarr starship design so well as the Maller. To describe it in a single word, the Maller is simply inflexible - in both senses. This is a ship which offers a great deal of raw, unbending strength, but lacks the nuance and adaptability characterized by the cruisers of other races.
And, Monkey MAC, sure, I don't have to fit damage mods, I could fit shield modules and do well and I'm sure there are plenty of people that do it and do well and it suits their gameplay even if doesn't suit mine. But that's the beauty, you have the choice, and these changes you proposed would hurt these choices and the Amarr Suit specifically more than the others.
Amarr suits don't have many slots to benefit from these bonuses and end up having no "free" slot in your proposed changes. While a Caldari would have better shields and regular armor options, with the option to fit utility modules in the lows the Amarr Suit would have to fit all slots with buffer and would have no "free" slots to fit damage or EWAR without hurting itself in a way no other suit would have to.
Plus, doesn't giving a buff to modules in a suit that doesn't have many modules slots sound like something familiar? Something familiar that have ended up pretty bad? I'm referring to the Commando suit. Think about it.
I understand your proposed changes, but even if I am of the opinion that all is fine as it is I have to say that this specific proposal wouldn't fare well in the larger picture. |

Wow, the butt hurt and badness in this thread is epic.
Amarr have the best ehp. Amarr have the best slot layouts. Amarr have the best fitting caps.
Gallente may have the most slots, but they run into fitting issues pretty damn fast if you wanna use anything other than a AR. After you add in the better quality mods that a amarr suit can fit due to the abundance of CPU and PG, it makes the Gallente suit look like a joke. Don't mistake looking like a joke for being bad, Gallente suits easily give Amarr suits a run for their money. It's just before you start sprouting nonsense about the Amarr suit, just know you lot have it easy. |

The advanced amarr logi can tank up to 670 armor and 362 shields, thats over 1000 hp on an advanced suit. The proto can have a little over 800 armor, which sounds amarrian to me.
Im a proud Amarr Assault class however. If i were to compare the suits advanced and prototype level suits in a dual tank...
Amarr assault ADV 370 shields/ 522 armor Amarr assault PRO 443 shields/ 670 armor
So what you see is that for the Amarr, you really have to consider whether you want the possibility of higher shields.
But you have options my brethren. You are not chained to rely on neither shields or armor. what you will learn is that the Amarr Assaults rely on a certain formula that is very eve lore worthy. Its DPS to hp efficiency is out the roof.

The one thing I never got about the amarr and their war doctrines, we build everything for armor tanking (talking ships here your suits make no sense) but use all weapons that are amazing at stripping shield....Considering their primary enemy, the minmatar, have ships that can either shield or armor tank wouldn't it be prudent to use weapons that are decent against both? |

I use starter fits and advanced Amarr and Gallente suits. I don't know much about the standard because I never used them but the advanced versions seem spot on as far as slot layout. I like both of the races suits for different reasons and I wouldn't change the slots. |

To continue here, take a look at an Amarr Assault that has been adapted for taking on multiple hostiles at the same time. (Our forte)
This example will both show an advanced and prototype fitting. Both fittings in my case have a passive 10percent profile dampening (skill)
Advanced suit 225 shields/522 armor Gek-38 (proficiency 5 AR) M209 submachine gun (prof 5 smg) 2 complex damage mods 2 complex plates grenade of whatever Equipment slot is probably a nanohive
This AR will max out at 597.98 damage per second. Compare this with
A Gek-38 with prof 5 and no damage mods does about 513 damage per second. If youre just starting out with the AR and you have a GEK-38 but with no proficiency then your weapon does about 446.25 damage per second standard.
So 600 damage per second is easily felt by the opposition. It gets your kills very fast, but you dont want to be caught off guard. The armor is plentious, so you will want a good armor repairing nanohive to keep your reliability at a reasonable level.
As for the Prototype suit i tend to favor the complex profile dampener instead of a 3rd armor plate, this prevents the hideous (YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED) in most FW matches.
Prototype Amarr dropsuit: 298 shields / 522 armor 1 complex shield extender 2 complex damage mods 2 complex armor plates 1 prototype Profile Dampener Duvalle Assault rifle Ishukune assault smg Grenade Bada** nanohive
This suit exemplifies my point that i begain with the advanced suit. The Amarr assault can easily take on an enemys when its dps is higher. It's efficient in that sense, so you have to utilize that.
Duvalle assault rifle default dmg 37.4 x 750=28050 28050/60= 467 STANDARD DAMAGE PER SECOND. for the duvalle
At proficiency 5 the duvalles dps is then 537.62.
But with this setup (assuming an approx 19% boost with the 2 CDMs) This duvalle does 626 damage per second. This is about 50 damage per bullet.
So the Amarr assault suit has become more deadly because of the way we have had to adapt to the newst builds. Profile dampeners help you get the drop on your enemy 1st so that you can get your first second of damage into the opposition. Going this route does lower your potential armor of 670, but you can always have one of those suits to try out in tight situations as well.
This style has a touch of gallente but its actually better because i find myself killing the enemies in sight before they can get my shields down. The shield tank is not as effective now due to the recharge delay penalty, so one complex shield extender will suffice. No need to weaken the suit in any way other than speed (from armor mods).
With a well placed armor rep nanohive you can maintain your ground with much efficiency.
Again.. the Amarr suit is about balance. And balance.. worketh patience. Kill that caldari logi scum, wait for your shields to reboot completely, and move on to the next hostile.
