Anyone else think the range is kind of ridiculous? It's a bit annoying to be notified that I'm scanned when I'm the only person in a 150m radius and no red dots in sight. It's like hey here's a heavy trying to get across that open field I just spotted him from across the map get him! |

I don't think limiting specific equipment to a particular suit class is a good idea. I love this idea

Maybe give an active scanner range/precision/recharge bonus for scout suits?
Also, love the "scout suits get shared squad vision" idea. |

Cosgar wrote:How about this: Scouts get a CPU/PG reduction for fitting any and all EWAR equipment, modules and weapons. They do this in EVE with cloaking devices: give the device outrageous fitting costs, but the ship has an enormous reduction to fitting requirements. Scanners should still be usable for other suits, but equipping one could entail a serious trade-off in that you wouldn't be able to equip the best modules, or you'd have to add a CPU booster to a low slot. Increasing the fitting requirements and then giving scouts a 25-50% reduction to fitting costs would make sense. |

since your radar only goes to 100m, how do you know you're the only person in 150m radius? Even if you used a 150m scanner yourself, you still dont know, since the precision of that scanner is lousy.

I'd be for it.

Give scouts an extra equipment slot at ADV level. Make scout suits get +10% PG/CPU across the board. Scout skill: -10% scanner fitting cost per level.
Scouts then can fit 2 scanners for the price of 1 if they want, or run scanner + equipment with a net fitting loss, but significantly more utility in battle, without the survivability of logistics. If they don't care to use either equipment slot, then they can be a bit more versitile with their tank/stealth/speed mods. Scouts shouldn't need a scanner though. If scouts get an increased passive range and the ability to share enemy locations to squad members, scouts can scout just using passive and some range extenders (Gal scouts could do it better which makes their bonus truly useful). This is more true to the scout philosophy of being stealthy (and therefore allows the scout to do their job more safely). this^ scouts should not need a scanner

I don't think limiting specific equipment to a particular suit class is a good idea. I am going to love stealing kills from scouts. |

Meh. As long as I can grab some kill assists, you are more than welcome to move ahead of me and take all the heat. |

If Hudson can carry a motion tracker then anyone can use an active scanner. I like the idea of scout having shared vision though, it fits the role nicely. |

As long as I can grab some kill assists, you are more than welcome to move ahead of me and take all the heat. Thats the spirit. tbh I have 4 scout load outs and I always like to "bait n switch". Run all the way around, shoot from behind and get their attention. Now the enemy is wasting time looking for me with their backs turned to my team allowing my team for an easier push. if they chase me... BOOOM REMOTE EXPLOSIVES. |

I understand wanting a Scout with scanner. But that would suck for Logis and Assaults that use the scanners. I've been using the scanner since 1.3 and it would suck to use it only on Scouts. Scout should be sneaky and honestly scanners are far from sneaky. Knives, Snipers, Scrambler Rifles and hacking make them sneaky. (scramblers for charged headshot and laser because they devour shields. Scouts are the sneaky killers. |

I agree. The scout is supposed to SCOUT. At the moment , the only ones abusing it are Logis TO FIND SCOUTS.
This, belive it or not has been a MAJOR nerf to scouts....

Instead make a scanning mod only for scouts that don't alert people that they have been scanned , something like the passive scan but shares squad vision an has a better range than passive scan but maybe less range than active scanners |

NO OZ. Active Scanners are -+ the faults for scouts being night unplayable as it is.
I dont know if you have been in this ssituation:
-Get scout suit, Proto minma with ENH Prof Damp.(i cant fit the proto one because i need the Cx kin cat) -You have been scanned -You have been scanned -You have been scanned -You have been scanned You are dead Respawn -You have been scanned -You have been scanned -You have been scanned You dead. -Rinse and repeat
I mean WTH. Scouting should be for scouts, Logis already do Everysingle other role possible out there.... |
