EXCELLENT work True Grit =D
Went above and beyond just corporation roles and knocked out that ridiculous wait time when trying to search for people in the members list (I wonder if this optimization would help contacts list?). Kept the corporation roles simple and sweet which is exactly what we need right now.

Will only directors and CEOs change tax rates? Or will accountant be able to do that now too?
Also, not being a director, I'm curious. Can Dust players accept Eve player applications to the corp? |

No, the accountant cannot change the tax rate.
Yes DUST players can accept applications, but the EVE player has to then hit accept as well since thats how it works in EVE.

Minor 'anal' web page optimization thing... I believe that the summary page for September/2013 does not condense today's latest post. I think your SOP has been to have a paragraph and then a 'read more...' might save a MB or so for each new view. |

I was also wondering if this affects a characters contact list.... i have a ton to delete and it takes at least 40 seconds to reload each time.... |

I'm very weary of the TCO role, not because of what it is or what it does. But, I've been part of PC matches where, like clockwork, a player gets black-screened, disconnects, or some other vague mishap that occurs when deploying to the match. In the past, if that player is a member of the corporation; they'll just restart and join in separately. If not, one of the backups (usually from the corp in question) will join separately.
Now, that you have to be a TCO to join a Corp Match, how can mitigation of Deployment Issues be lessened? |

I don't think True Grit is responsible for that. Remember that this game is developed by a number of teams, and although they coordinate I'm sure not every team is aware of the status of other team's developments.
But seriously, what's the status on rollover SP?

This is a good point and we will have a think about this. There are a few options to make this a bit nicer but I don't want to commit to doing them just yet. |

I'm concerned about the same thing... you're going to have to give EVERYONE in the corp that does PC the role in case they have stability issues. |

Allthough its a nice start. Will there be more roles added in the next months to come? I mean in the sence of higher and lower ranks, for instance; Trainers/Mentors (ground vehicles/dropships/infantry), Squad commanders/lower officer rank (i know there is the TCO, but they are more the higher officer, but i mean in the sence of if i where a newbie in a corp and i got told bla, bla, bla ask an officer, well to me its just weird if there is a hundred TCO's), Not to mention the abbility to see the difference between elite merc, vets and newberry's within that corp. To me more roles/ranks could be added to a corp, even if they did not have any special abbility's, other then what a TCO's might have. It would make a better distinguishment between the many members and what roles they would play within the corp. Afterall the modern day army does not just have 100 generals, but instead a complete ranking system. This also lets us strive to become higher ranked within the corp. So would it be possible to see such roles/ranks in the future? |

There are many players who are going to be asking why do this when you could give us some new weapons?
Because this blog represents one of the biggest leaps forward in the delvelopment of the game. Certainly as big as PC and more so than the skill tree updates.
This is going to be a major help for how corporations are able to be maintained. Anything that allows a CEO and directors the ability to safely delegate tasks such as recruitment without access to to the wallet and district control is going to be a huge boost.
It also means that we can now reward those players that are helpful to the corp and give them a sense of responsibility and engagement by giving them a role in the day to day running of a corp.
Anything that makes running a corp easier is going to encourage the formation of more corps. More corps means more fights. More fights means Dust grows.
This is a massive head start on what we need and a major advancement towards a corp being able to be run without the need of using an Eve client.
Just a couple of questions that leap to mind before I go out to the cinema. (I'll sit down and think of others after seeing Rush)
1. Can these roles be applied within the Eve client?
2. How close are we to having the ability to give Titles, medals and an employment history of mercs, all of which being visible to other players in Dust?
Can also give a big thank you to Cognac and Merc for the optimisation work on loading the members list and for the bonus items of filters.
I'm not going to stop pushing for more corp UI options but I'm now so happy that my member list isn't going to take 2mins and 52 secs to load. (Means less chance to make a brew while its loading but I'm happy to sacrifice that)

Will the optimization of the contact list streaming translate into optimizations of loading the leaderboard and/or overview map? Those have been a little slow for tactical/quick use. |

Sounds incredibly useful. But the majority of the players will probably not care, as it is only important for the Corp leaders and the people who will fill the new roles. But whatever. I didn't expect any changes for me personally with 1.5 anyways. So I'm looking forward to the NPE and see how good the new tutorials are, as well as to 1.6 |
