WPs sounds good to me. It's what logistics are meant to do, support. Assaults shouldn't get all of the WP because then there would be a poop-ton of trouble with stomping as orbitals would pour down like rain in Seattle.
I mean a whole squad of logistics COULD ring in a lot of OBs but they will still be handicapped due to their focus on surviving instead of killing, which is what the assault is focused on. |

Ideally Logis wouldn't get tons of WPs from kills, but as long as the Logi suits are on par, if not even better than the Assault suits at the assault role there will be problems with this. Logi suits need a hard nerf (coming from a Logi) in combination with a slight buff to Assault suits. I could also see something like soaking up damage as a Sentinel give WP since the ability to get similar amount of WPs as an Assault from kills etc is nearly impossible in the Sentinel's current state (+Assaults can also get WP from their single equipment slot). They're not so much getting a nerf as getting a specialized role. I don't remember where I saw it but Logi's are apparently getting their bonuses changed so that they are more akin to their equipment, rather than the warfaring types they currently are. Which means we'll probably be seeing the passive +5HP/sec armor repair rate disappearing in place of something... useful. I think all the complaints about Logi's gaining more WP is unwarranted, honestly. You can have all the WP in the world but it's not going to win you the match. Maybe some of these guys should go check out Ambush again and see how bad it is -not- to get kills.
I want +2 to my rep tool I honeslty like the +hp/sec bonus on logis without it I would have been dead more times since no one reps me I only have adv so +3 but still useful and Im not gonna skill into proto anytime soon cause it is too expensive for me to use and too many sp for my liking I dont do pc so no rush....sorry for off topic post |

to those that think this its just about the 15 WP for the scanner its not. Read my second post. Its about logis having the ability to WP farm because they have weapon (kills) and numerous equipment slots.
As bendtner points out its because the suit.
my frustration is that CCP keeps rewarding a 'support' role. If CCP changed they way WP were awarded they would get different gameplay e.g. WP for defending attacking objectives in a certain radius.
Why use any other suit when a logi does everything and then some and can maximise your WP.
(also it was a stupid equipment implementation. Its breaks the passive and active skill trees. Though they were broken before the scanner was introduced) |

So you expect enemy kills to be unlimited farmable resource?
Farmable only in red-blue co-op medkit pickup boosting, where kill and pickup WPs trump scan bonus. Which is too slow and clumsy to help. |

EVER Dont ask for ammo Dont expect to win running 500m to the objective when you die Dont use the help of a scan stay away and find you own kills AND most of all dont expect me to care if you are under fire and need my support cause i'm turning the other way |

This is NOT the case. Active scans go out to the ENTIRE team, regardless of whether the scanner is in any form of squad or not.

My active scanner information gets sent to the entire team, and assists all of them in playing better. While not getting WP will obviously not stop me from scanning, as I have been since 1.2, this is a terrible way to implement the reward system. It will provide the most WP rewards to a proto-stomping squad, where a scanner can be reasonably confident that their squad will shred through every target scanned. To the flanking lone wolf, who scans endlessly regardless of WP but does not play in a squad, this will provide ZERO WP, despite the fact that EVERY other player in the game will benefit from this unsquadded player's scanning.

I repeat: I use an advanced minmitar logi suit to max WP/ SP in pubs
My suit consists of all the equipment you profess that makes logis a class and special.
Its the default suit to farm WP. Because CCP keeps on making stupid decisions on how WP are earned in this game.
To an earlier poster a squad regularly does 50 kills.
An assault who repeatedly goes 20-0 will still only get 1000 WP. A logi can go 0-20 and still hit 2/3000 WP by using equipment alone. They will have done little to win the game. Hence why logis are rarely seen in PC.

50+ kill but will you go 50+ with scans you have 5 seconds on an std scanner to make a kill and 30sec for the delay before you can scan again so unless you are going to carry two scanners and scan the whole match which would take a gun off the field....and for the logis in pc the 10 thousand uplinks and nanohives spammed all over the maps in pc so eon can spam grenades and MD's I think there are logis around somewhere 0/ |

1. Forming a squad with randoms while waiting on the warbarge is definitely not the way to go if you want a decent squad. Look to your corp or one of the good public channels to squad up before you go into battle. I avoid invites from randoms like the plague that they are.
2. Lone wolves won't be getting WP for scanning. As a lone wolf I'm oddly OK with that. More incentive to actually squad up. Condor Squad!
3. Uplinks. 'Nuff said.
4. I've had the same concerns about squad versus team. Maybe the system should work differently in PC versus other contract types. I'm hoping that when the commander system is rolled out multiple squads can be linked as a true team and the current squad benefits will then apply. Current teams are mostly just random squads and solo mercs thrown together. Maybe their concept is the squad leader is the TacNet hub and we just don't have a team leader to link the squads yet.

1) They are adding squad finder so that may help. 2) Only squad gives scan assists because only squad can see scanned targets. 3) YES, OMG YES, YES, YES! 4) Pub stompers only succeed because they are in squads. Imagine a proto on a team full of BBs and he not in a squad. Wanna bet he gets his ass handed to 'em?

IGÇÖm afraid you are most definitely wrong about that one sir. Since 1.4GÇÖs release, scans no longer show up for the entire team and only for the squad you are in. If your lone wolfing it, technically you're in your own squad and in so, the scanner only becomes useful for yourself. |

1.The only time I join random squads are when, no one in my corp is online, no one from a channel that has decent players is on, I typically try to avoid it, but sometimes it can't be helped if I want to play right then. Being part of a squad that has no clue what they are doing is better then being a lone wolf, simply because you get more intel. Also, the warbarge has been having issues that it directly throws everyone into combat and has no waiting time, this might just be a bug.
2. True I guess, hope people are smart enough to actually squad up as they are supposed to then.
3. Uplinks aren't always an option, especially at the beginning of the match when the game will put 1-3 people in the middle of 5-12 enemies. Also, people can destroy uplinks and do so rapidly if they are trying to spawn camp a team.
4. Well hope this comes out fast then, it would help a lot. |
