So I hope AV stays OP forever and you tankers get driven into extinction you ungrateful twits! You're damn right that vehicle operators main concern is their K/DR, a decent fit tank or dropship cost upwards of 500k per vehicle, our first and foremost concern is keeping our vehicle alive, everything else is secondary. And you say that tanks just steamroll round? In my experience both on the ground and in vehicles the infantry just end up in one huge messy firefight while the tank is the only thing actually hitting the objective. And in a game with such lethal AV movement is the key to survival, sit still and AV will be brought to bear on you, they will trap and them annihilate you. And here's another reason we vehicle users loathe bluedots in our vehicles, not only do they sit there being rather ineffective 90% of the time! they stop you recalling your vehicles and they steal them. Every single veteran vehicle user will have at least 1 story of where they jumped out of the vehicle/pilots seat and some enterprising blueberry jumped in and promptly suicided the vehicle through sheer incompetence, not giving a **** about the vehicle user they just cost half a million ISK. There are a lot of times where I have been the only player on a objective and a couple where I have hopped out of my tank to take it since no allies seemed to have the intention of doing so.
As for the vehicle steal.... this wouldn't happen if blue dots were prevented from jumping into drivers seat (but green dots could) too many times some idiot will get into my seat as I drop an uplink behind my tank, drive off, get blown up, and now any spawners on the uplink are camped and killed. |

I really should make and effort one of these days to provide and entire enemy team with HAV so that they can steal them and show a laxy lack lustre team what HAV fear really is. |

Soooo I guess I'm the only one who sees a tank and then leaves it alone (except red tanks ... that's when I pull out my swarms) unless directly asked by a squadmate to hop into one of the guns.
Maybe it's just my experience with flying dropships but ... I know I like to know exactly who is in my vehicle at any given time and I like to have control over who does what. In the case of a DS, it's telling people when I'm stable enough to drop, and telling my gunners (if I have any) where the big shots are coming from.
So I can understand the hate coming from the Tankers. Random blueberries hopping into the guns shooting at anything and everything is annoying as all hell. And sadly ... much like expensive suits and other vehicles ... tankers like to protect thier assets. Cliff sniping is an effective tactic and there's not much any of us can do about it, short of taking out the tank ourselves.
Also keep in mind ... there is no effective way to communicate to the whole team unless it's a prearranged match and everyone has mics. Running people over and shooting others off the turrets is about the only thing tankers can do to signal the ground troops that they don't want you in there. |

Myself & Infantry
Good - I llove when there is competent infantry in my turrents because it allows my tank to crowd control 6+ players in different locations or when there are enemy vehicles they will hop out and use their anti vehicle.
Bad - They will start shooting my turrents at the air/ground just for the sake of it, refuse to leave my tank to hack an objective that was just cleared, afk inside the tank and trying to kill my tank stomping it eith BPO LAVs (lol).
I will normally wait before calling in my tank, even if a foot soldier hops in I will go around and judge how competent he is in the first minutes of the match and if he turns put to be a jerk I will go back to the redline and AFK/Rail.
Things will not work between you and me, because It's not me (tanker)... it's you (infantry) |

I am a great gunner and I can be your mechanic tankers. All I ask is a decent turret and for you to not run off when I am repping your tank. Please don't be a D***. So with that said if I see you Char I will be your gunner, I can be AV or a mechanic your choice and that goes for all tankers. |

I'm a part-time Tanker. I'm both an Assaulter and a HAV pilot, so I understand both points of view...
...wait a minute, no!
There is no damn point in sitting in a HAV without doing anything besides being annoying! Why do people do that? A tanker need the control of his/her own vehicle (I will use the male form for the rest of the post just for convenience, since women are rare in DUST) in order to operate effectively. If the pilot wants to recall his tank, he should be able to recall the tank! If the pilot wants the gunner out, he should be able to kick the gunner out!
Is it that hard to understand?
The only time when I jump in a blue tank is when I'm wounded and that is going to save my life. If the situation is stable, I'll jump out as soon as my shields are recharged, if there are too many enemies I wait for the tank to retreat or move away just a bit to get out and run for cover. As for ANY other situation, there is absolutely no reason for me to sit in someone's tank, I'm much more effective as mobile infantry... there are just few opportunities for gunners to be useful.
I dream about a world where infantry and vehicles fight together. But unfortunately, it's just a dream.
Removing the HAV's small turrets it's a sad fix, but it will help tankers a lot (supposing the seats are going to be removed as well). It's sad because it's not going to improve the relationship between tankers and infantry, it will just prevent idiots from getting into the tank. I would want to have useful teammates in my tank so much! People jumping out to kill swarmers and repairing my tank... oh my God, how awesome would that be? Unfortunately, that never happened to me. Seriously, never. Not even once.
So yes, removing my small turrets is going to be very sad, but I will.
Anyway, we need this holy "Vehicle lock toggle", so we can leave our small turrets for our actual squad mates by selecting "Squad only".
Heh, I know it's impossible, but it would be awesome for vehicle players to give some sort of legion of merit to people being useful vehicle-supporters and to make it visible in-game, so that we can recognize them as vehicle-friends and let them jump in our tanks. LOL.
Also, an emergency "eject" button would be AMAZING. Everyone is immediately kicked out and the vehicle gets locked, so the pilot can recall his crap. The pilot needs to be kicked as well or this could be a way to troll people leaving them in the redzone or dropping them in the middle of a gunfight. Lol |

fragmented. Just send me a message in game when is a good time for you. I am proto logi with lvl 3 rep tool and swarms or I can go heavy with proto forge all with advanced AV nades. I do not mind dying if the tank survives, just pick me up when I clone back in. |

Anyway I personaly think tanks should not be able to be recalled, so I dont really see a problem with blue berrys taking a siesta in your tank.
Im tired of almost killing a tank and the driver goign around a conner and recalling it in an instant. So then supply depots shouldn't let you switch suits on the fly. You can only switch suits when you die. Sound fair?
Sounds perfectly Fair, Supply depos should leave you exposed to switch suits for either a good 20-30 sec, or not let you switch at all.

Uh have you not seen all the QQ about tanks being flimsy as ****. We aren't one man death machines now unless we are either one of two things
Good- Most tankers in this game. Void Echo, Charlotte O'dell, Pegasus Prime, Exmaple Core, St Evilsbitch and many more.
Lucky- Players like me who just happen to turn up on the six of an enemy Madrugar in their ****** Soma.
If we were 1 man death machines everyone would be a tanker.
Admittedly and I hope Aero will pop in to back me up.... I wont even move until the infantry tells me what he scenario Im about to drive into is like, I need to know where the enemy tanks are, infantry are, what installations are there. When I do I'll move in, do what I can and try to sit their until my team can win the fight.... I normally die doing this. |

We don't support you because you don't support us- tankers should be following infantry. It doesn't work the other way around because tanks are much faster and tend to drive in places that aren't infantry friendly. |
