I want a mineing map right now. Lots and lots of dark tunnels with limited lighting. Narrow corridors! Glowing firefights! Possibly even dynamic doors! Operation Metro on BF3 would be good inspiration for it, but I don't want the map to be "that" narrow either. I want there to be dynamic levels in this underground complex, and I want there to also be strategic areas.
Also a recreation of the Dead Space one ishymura (bad spelling) would be bad ass as well...... just sayin! |

You just made me remind of the Planetary Structures used in Gas planets for Planetary Interaction in EVE. These structures (command center, launch pads, harvesting units, industrial facilities and depots) actually float around in the planet's atmosphere and are connected by "bridges" and ducts. A map created with this set in mind could be really interesting and maybe even relatively simple to do: there is no "terrain", only the floating sockets which could be randomly generated as usual. You fall from the structure you die. Could result in some breathtakingly beautiful landscapes that are totally different from the current ones based in temperate planets and some very interesting gameplay, specially for dropships and your jet fighters, with plenty of sky to fly.

Just give me a single map without all the high up camping positions.
For some reason, all the maps are riddled with them. It leads to very boring gameplay having half the other team camping on some hard to reach rooftop. |

That is where what we have seen differs. I have seen strikes right in my face. Even with dust particles flying up from the ground. Scares the hell out of me because I think I got shot at by a turret. |

A giant station constructed around a massive planetary generator or something like that, the fight would happen either inside the main building or inside the outer ring, Dropships and other aerial vehicles can be useful there, bringing a tank or an LAV to that map will be pointless because 1) the battles will be mostly indoors 2) there will be landing pads for Dropships and other open areas with enough size just for them or other aerial vehicles.

A massive Self Sustained, Oceanic Mining Facility.
It would be located in a gulf, with multiple bridges leading to a very large Platform at the water's surface level. The Platform would have Accessible Buildings as well as infrastructure.
The Surface Buildings would have roads, ramps, and stairwells leading below the surface of the water to a massive underwater facility. There would be long narrow corridors branching out from the main Road tunnels. These corridors would also be accessible from the ramps and stairwells. The corridors would have different sized rooms. These could consist of Loading areas being the largest accessible by the roads as well, Communications rooms, Security HQ, Generator Rooms. Testing Labratories, and whatever else may be relevant in a completely self sustained Mining Facility. The corridors and some rooms would have thick glass dome windows where you could see the alien marine life swimming about.
There could even be diving chambers, near the lowest parts of the underwater facility, where Mercs could actually dive into the water, fight on the ocean floor, reemerging in another dive chamber to flank the enemy inside.
I'm imagining it would look something like the Facility in the Movie The Abyss with actor Ed Harris. |
