Best ideas, based on likes, i'll quote and put for all to here. Now on topic what sort of respec systems would you guys try to use? I personally would go with a system where everyone gets X respecs, 2 is mine, per year that can be used at any given point and time. These respecs WOULD NOT stack per year so you can have more than 2 at any given point and time. The "year" applies to when the respecs were used so there's no abusable deadline.
Let me know what you guys think and what ideas you have. I also want to clarify that this tread thread isn't for people to complain about respecs. This is a thread to discuss what system the majority of us that DO want it can agree on. |

Hard to disagree but as is dust is pretty dull. Even with a total respec will just go back to our daily motions of complaining after a month of having to grind again. Still it's not a bad idea just that dust itself makes it hard to agree |

Expensive, both ISK and Aurum, and you lose 1 mil SP to do it. Wouldn't make much sense below 13 mil, but whatever.
Say.... 2.5 mil ISK, 15,000 Aurum. |

A big giant red button in your merc quarters. When you press it it automatically resets all your skill points and marks your total SP as ZERO thus effectively giving people exactly what they are asking for while screwing them over at the same time. |

No free repecs.
Respecs for 20,000 AUR each and you lose 10% of your SP. That will discourage players with a lot of SP from continuously respecing.

None, because respecing doesn't force you to:
A) Deal with the fact that you've made mistakes
B) Destroys the feeling of permenancy currently associated with your choices which makes you really consider each choice deeply before you jump in.
C) Deprives you of the learning and sometimes joy when you find out that an accidentally/mistakenly bought skillpoint is actually quite useful.
I'd also like to point out that any respec is destructive to the game since all players will just constantly spec into the flavor of the moment destroying any semblance of play style diversity.
Respecs for AUR are awful because they promote a pay to win environment (see previous FOTM comment) and respects for large isk amounts give a huge advantage to the rich vets.
In summary, respecs are an awful idea and CCP has said there will be no more of them anyway so just give up on it. The rest of us are tired of verbally thrashing you for wanting a respec. |

Respecs every time they make something new, so that players can test as much as possible before they give us a FINAL respec when everything is out.
By that time ,every single player should know what they want to play as, and everybody should be happy.
After that, no respecs, NEVER again.... |

Nope, sorry.
Then it'll look like there's more support than there actually is for a feature that shouldn't exist. It's threads like these that got people fixated on the overly complicated "rollover sp" idea, when the best solution was to have no cap at all.
Respecs are a bad idea, and it should be challenged wherever it pops up. |

To those that say "respec when everything is out".... You don't know CCP. That won't ever happen. They are always adding new things, and they aren't going to give you a respec just because you're bored. Grind the SP and think about what you've done.

we get 1 refund tokens every 6 months for a cost of 25 million isk each token -it can only refund one skill only no matter what level. -if you brought one token but didn't use it will be gone after a month. -if you decide to use it your passive sp gain will be halved for a month.
I would like to see this type of respec system.

EVE players get a remap of their core skills on a yearly basis.
While not their skills on the whole, for a FPS such as this, perhaps a yearly remap wouldn't be too bad? Maybe every 6 mo.? Thats a long time in terms of a game like this. CoD replaces it's games with a new edition yearly. While DUST may not go that route, expecting people to be playing 1-2 years from now is unlikely, at best. Need to work within that time frame. |

Not quite correct. They get a remap of their attributes, which affect how fast skills are trained. |

There is really no difference between respec and boosters - as far as SP goes.
I think this system would work and maybe with less restrictions. Respecing on Dust is a must. To point a fact there would be less EVE dropouts if they could respec also.
CCP this is something that gimps your SP system. You want us to play what we enjoy but limit the ability to explore all the game has to offer to play what we enjoy... You support only hardcore players with the current system.
I suggest you explore out of the BOX and think again about a respec system. |
