I believe no respect should be done. If you choose an path and did not read or ask corp members or go on forums to see what the best path is then tooo bad. I wish some time I can respect only because they really nurf the shield tanks bad and every time that someone ask me what I run and I say shield tank they say sorry. BUT this is what I choose and will stick to it . Still to this day before I spend my SP Ill ask some one in the corp or look for some comments from other players if its an good choice to do. I also agree about the flavor of the month comment . Just because MASS Drivers are the Rave for the moment and are just murdering ppl left and right does not mean that you should be able to easily to spec into it . |

everyone gets 1 refund token every 4 months for FREE. -it can only refund one skill only no matter what level. -if you didn't use the token it will be gone after a 2 weeks. -if you decide to use it your passive sp gain will be halved for a 3 weeks.
I changed a little bit to minimize the penalty a bit and i feel like this system is better.
Criticize my idea so I can come up with other respec system and I can also see the flaws of my ideas. |

Add skill spikes and clusters. Sell them on the market for ISK and AUR. Add a skill or two for each and there you go.
Skill clusters would open up on branch of skills to level 3 and allow mercs to test out advanced gear. The cluster skill would allow the merc to access more skill sets. Level 1 for side arms, level two for light weapons, 3 for heavy and four and five for vehicles. The second skill would add time to the cluster. Six hours added per level for a total of 30 hours extra per cluster. Sell them in 1,3,5, and 7 day flavors. All benefits would be lost when the booster ran out.
Skill spikes would be sold for AUR and ISK and would award the wearer with 500K SP to allocate to one skill. Each level of the spike skill would add 2% more SP per booster. Add a spike extender skill that adds six hours per level and sell them in the same way the other boosters are sold. When the spike runs out the SP is taken away.
This would get rid of the need for respecs and allow people to test out higher gear. With a cluster and a spike in a branch of the skill tree coupled with some AUR weapons a day one merc could rock at least one piece of prototype gear. Selling them for ISK keeps them from being P2W and an 8x skill would make them another good SP sink. |

I already put a like on the never again option once all the suits come out but if a respec is 100% needed for some odd reason, make it aur based, expensive and have a 6 month cd, major balance changes however should give out limited respec in their related field. |

Ok here is the criticism.
Make it maybe so that you have increasing passive or active SP penalties the more skills you would like refunded? Maybe passive/active SP halved for 8 weeks but you get 2 skills refunded? |

While not their skills on the whole, for a FPS such as this, perhaps a yearly remap wouldn't be too bad? Maybe every 6 mo.? Thats a long time in terms of a game like this. CoD replaces it's games with a new edition yearly. While DUST may not go that route, expecting people to be playing 1-2 years from now is unlikely, at best. Need to work within that time frame.
Well, not quite. See, what they get is a remap of attributes, in which makes skilling faster for certain skills depending on the attribute. If they gave us this, that would make skilling a certain role faster, almost like a booster for specific skills. I would say getting these adjusted for Dust, then paying for another remap would be okay. |

MAG had a level cap tht once you reached you could respec back to level 1. The other system was... Well i don't remember I think you basically payed some price in SP and you could choose which things to spec into again.
What if they simply got rid of SP system for weapons/suits and make it more like the CoD(I don't know what else to compare it to i think BF) where usage and fimilarity with the weapon increases your ability with it and the things you can fit on it. In a way it'd be like EVE/CoD. the downfall with CoD when it comes to weapons is the fact that they aren't really unique but in D514 that's not the issue.
So basically the amount of time(games) you use a racial weapon type and the amount of kills, with the types of kills, increase certain skills on it. Like "reach x kills with the HMG increases it's stability". |

I know what you're trying to say. It's a good idea, but most folks will read the "like the CoD" part and immediately stop reading. lol |

True sadly I don't know what else to compare it too. Comparing it to EVE wouldn't be very accurate either as well. |

Your assuming that more new suits/vehicles will not be added once all the racial variant are added. So once we have all those and then they add more (Jove Drop Suit anyone?) are you expecting another respec?

NEVER any system to buy them, not even if it's limited to one per year or anything like that. Any means of redoing your character either by a schedule or for AURUM is unacceptable. |
