Between the invisibility of the user, and the reduced time to dump a whole mag, swarms have now reached epic porpotions of stupidity.
Beyond all that, you can't see the missiles in flight, you cannot get a proper hit marker on them still when attacked from the vertical.
If you had not buffed the crap out of nitrous, there would be literally no hope for getting away from any swarmer. Even with it your odds are slim.
So there is zero point in running a blaster or missile fit anymore, just railgunning.
Thanks for taking the last bit of interest out of vehicle operation, it is now pointless to run an armor tank. And since shield tanks are absolutely garbage at keeping people away from them, there is now no close support tank option. Only thing left is long distance support, which can't be done because the engine can't handle drawing enemies at that distance.

WOW vehicle users whining on the forums?!
Thats new....
Look sweet tears, it hasnt even been a week, and you are already complaining. Keep playing , keep testing and come back in a week or two to whine. Nothing you say will be taken seriously (except by scrub tankers) since it hasn't even passed 24 hours since the update. |

Swarms are beautiful now, they fire off only 3 volleys a clip. Faster fire rate eat my ****, if you cant take 3 proto swarms, rethink your fitting, then build around that. if your PG/CPU is being boguarded by damage mods build around the armor instead. find a nice median between damage and armor. change your tactics, rethink your fights, and remember, 1.5 is coming |

swarms are fine, they have a reduced mag size now so shield and armor tanking without reppers is more appealing now anyway.
nitro is still useful, although the bug that enemies need to render at a longer distance should be fixed I suppose. |

Only thing left is long distance support, which can't be done because the engine can't handle drawing enemies at that distance. Wait until next month when they finish the coffin with 1.5. With luck that will require refunding Skill Tree SP if it is tweaked enough.
Then I can wait to try it again. If it fails as expected then I can buff the heck out of my Suits and Weapons.
The Devs have no idea how to either code nor play a game is the only thing I can think of that drives these bizarre direction shifts. Oh well, I still have some AUR and it was from the last bit of cash they will ever get from me. Support for Chromosome and before, yes. Uprising and beyond ... absolutely not.
Ignore the Swarm Suckers on the forum. All they want to know is they can bust 1-2M ISK tanks with much cheaper Swarmers and the Devs will make them invisible.
Last night I jumped out of two tanks and murdered them before they could get their rounds off. The close ones are easy pickings. The far versions I am going to focus my sniper sessions on them. Good targets and the Proto swarms cost them ISK as well while my Sniper fits cost next to nothing.

As a caveat, swarms don't have as much ammo as they did before. They empty magazines fast, but they only have like 2.
As it stands now, the only way a swarmer is going to be a threat to you is if he's at high altitude with a nanohive. Otherwise, he can't use a swarm and still get around the battlefield and be potent.
So swarms were buffed, AND nerfed at the same time. Give yourself some time to adapt, see how you manage after a few weeks. |

-TAnks are meant to endure damage. They can take 2-4 swarms and in that time they have enough time to find cover, and the AV specialist will have to reload AND restock. If you are getting killed by 3 swarms , you are doing something wrong, maybe your fitting? Game style? whatever...
-LAV's can outrun them
-Dropships can outrun them.

To the bolded:
Every single map has golden spots for a swarmer with hives. Several of them, and from the early looks at the new maps, they have literally dozens of places where a single swarmer with a hive will be able to completely close down huge portions of the map. That is aside from the fact that the new SI is a death trap for tanks.
All that would be fine and good if they could be seen, but they cannot. Swarms and their users are even less visible in the vehicle than outside of it.
So here we have a weapon that can be devastating in a proper position, that is invisible when fired, and does not consistently inform proper direction on the hitmarker. It also has enough range to be able to cover the heart of every battlefield.
A couple more days of this crap and CCP can keep 1.5. At this point I am getting convinced that creating a reasonably balanced vehicle infantry relationship is beyond them as programmers and designers.

They are trying things out, giving good feedback will help them more than calling them names :P I wonder where your game is since you think they can't make one very well? Is it also connected to a massive online game that's been running for 10 years? Is it free? |
