The Problem i have with aim assist is this... it takes away skill from users. If someone gets the drop on you now you have 95 % chance of dying by a new player with militia gear. Now i have no problem getting dropped by a new player with militia gear, it's the fact that the game is aiming for them and that goes for every weapon in the game including grenades.
My corp members and I concluded that if you really want aim assist in the game then put it as a module. I really would like to get feed back from other mercs on this issue.

What I'm seeing referred to as aim assist is looking closer to auto-aim. I've seen videos where the sight is obviously off to one side or the other of a target merc and it's still registering hits where there should be misses. This is far beyond aim assist as far as I'm concerned. |

OH really so how did you even manage to get kills before the update? It should take SKILL to get kills. People should not always hit there target in this game. Thats why i liked it because it actually had a skill factor Not anymore. Watch this game die now. |

I like the idea of an aim assist module, that has my support as long as you cannot stack them so you can aim 10m to the left/right of a target 50m away and still hit them. |

It's not working fine. My entire ninja knifing profession is dead because of this aimbot-like aim assist. I can't kill anyone with a knife anymore and I poured my heart and soul and SP into just knives. These were the weapons that take the most amount of skill to use. |

the scout issue is separate to this. I support making scouts relevant again
what we dont know is how bad hit detection was, to where it has improved too - which adds to the feeling of getting killed quicker

I don't mind getting hit by bullets more often as that is what fixing hit detection was for. But when every bullet in a clip hits you despite sprinting away from them at 9.63m/s towards the nearest cover, something is wrong. |

All FPS shooters have an auto aim system, especially on console.
I agree it needs reduced a bit, but a console FPS using a controller needs this system.
And for the controller to be competitive with the precision and speed of the M/KB it is the only solution. |

This aimbot needs to be reduced a lot. It is too OP for now. And the KB system isn't working well if you're a true PC gamer, it's a way easier with a joystick! Anyway, reduce the auto aim and it will perfect ! |

Guys, I had a thought. Maybe it's not aim assist. Maybe the aiming issues were resolved and we've gotten so good killing with the old ****** aim system that now with the issue resolved and a teensy little aim assist we are GODS now!
Basically, maybe it's not aim assist and everyone is just good. |

Aim assist, Aimbot, Smart bullets, whatever. it's a crutch, a cheap cheat no more reason to continue to spec into gears, equipment, weapons or to buy higher tiered materials. On a match today I was using a dragonfly with no damage mod and an exile AR went toe to toe and killed a raspberry in proto gear. Now MP is riddled with militia AR. Sadly it resembles those COD montage in youtube featuring 1 hit kills and titled "Awesome COD kills" or "Record kills" |

Think about what you just said and re-evaluate your statement. 9.63m/s is still 382m/s slower than even a slow moving handgun round, let alone about 1300m/s slower than an rifle round. Out run a bullet? You just want a fairytale game with super powers... Go play DCUO. |

Nope. Not true. Using a controller, I was hitting people I know I should have been missing. How do I know? I was intentionally aiming a bit to the left or right and still getting hits. That would be like me punching the air just to the left of your ear and having your nose break. |

That is Hit Detection lag, not aim-assist. Aim-Assist literally help you remain or target. If there are shots which are not on target which appear to be registering, then you are seeing hit detection lag. |

Even if I still kick asses in game, this aimbot is way too powerful. Now nobody needs skill to shoot someone, the entire gameplay and every suit without a minimum of 700HP are screwd.. This is not the game I loved to play, this is a COD-like.. And I didn't play DUST for months in order to be killed by the first militia assault in 2 sec..
Reduce this auto-aim, fix the hitbox, and let the players win by theirselves. |

The aim-assist may need to stay for noobs but it needs to be reduced ALOT!! The problem is that when someone sees u and they have the aim-assist on they barely need to aim at you in order to kill you. I run the minmatar suit and it's weak so it doesn't take these fools long with aim-assist to wipe me out if im not moving, actually even if I am moving I'm still screwed. I wonder how scouts have been affected by this aim bot ****. |

The claim that aim assist is an aim bot, is greatly exaggerated. I've literally tried to simulate the conditions to kill someone by shooting a foot off-target... you know what happens? i miss.
however if I pass my reticle across someone WHILE shooting, shots go in much easier.
Sounds like a perfectly functioning aim assist to me |

There are differences between an helping aim-assist and this aimbot. As you perfectly said, while you're shooting every shot touchs their goal which make a MLT AR devastating. But we are not in a CoD as I said before, in DUST you dont die in 2 secs if you know how to move and aim. The aiming before 1.4 was perfect to me because everybody needed to learn how to aim and the best players were the ones who finally win the game because of their skills. There was a true difference between noobs and good players. If noob can win against good players this is not a "perfectly functioning aim assist" but an option that destroy the game.
You must be one of those noobs who never knew how to aim before ccp gave you a little bit of credibility when you fight a real gamer.. |
