Thats fine for you to wait and check it out. I have been playing and I have tested it, thus I have formed an opinion.... just because you need more time doesn't give you the right to demand everyone else to wait a week or so. I want this fixed asap, I don't want it turned off either, I just believe its a little too strong from what I've seen and you should have to be closer for it to take effect and if they strafe much it should not stay completely locked on. |

For folks complaining bout matchmaking, until they get a fix, just switch your server. I switched to Europe servers during the day and the matchmaking was quick. Though it would put you in game types not requested, it was still a nice streamlined process to the game. Once they fix the game mode selection problem, we will have a better matchmaking system than the previous one. |

What you don't seem to grok yet is that the two issues are inherently tied together and it's not aiming that was buffed or matchmaking broken; YOU have been nerfed

The aim assist is tearing scouts apart. As in no mater how fast they run or bunny hop or duck and dive any ar at any range is tearing through all that hp. Made a speed tank proto cal assault with close to 600 hp to test as the scout just couldn't handle even a glance. Problems so far....
1. The ar can at any range even when I'm dancing around and through you land hits and a lot of them.
2. Speed tanking just has no real benefit when everyone can land shots on me.
3. The shotty hit detection is just worse in everyway.
4.the aim assist feels intrusive on the ar. Best way I can describe it.... not taking pleasure from killing reds as much.
5. Match making but anon described it perfectly.
6. Scotty ..... I hate scotty....
7. Scouts and more so my shotty brothers have been delt a bad hand.. AGAIN.
8. You made the greatest thing of being scout when you dance gracefully dealing death with the shotgun feel.... violated
9. Hope. When for 1 in every 10 games I have what the shotgun is made for. When hit detection works flawlessly and not taking 3 to 4 shots to down people.
Mostly about scout and shotty. But there is a lot of good things happening to other weapons I like. Just my niche amd favorite playing style just is no where as fun as 1.3 |

I am ok with the aim assist features because now you have to play more tactically to have a chance instead of just taking someone head on.
If you are shield tanked and the enemy is armor tanked the armor tankers will win EVERY time if both of you are really good/skilled at aiming and you have a 1 vs 1 showdown.
Shield tankers are meant to win against armor tankers by recharging shields after they are fully or partially depleted repeatedly.
Recharging shields takes time and that's the shield tankers weakness.
Armor tankers weakness is they regenerate slower so they must take shield tankers down before they can get into cover and recover there shields. They must chase retreating shield tankers to win.
That's my opinion anyway.
The laser rifles aim assist makes the aiming reticle attracted to the enemy. The attraction is very noticeable but not OP in my opinion. Additionally the aim assist does not make the aiming reticle track the target with 100% accuracy for more than 0.2 seconds roughly (at 85m roughly) . After that the target escapes aim. The target escapes your aim faster if he is closer to you and that effect continues to be added to until he is right in front of you. The laser rifle is also a UP weapon compared to other weapons in versatility. I am fine with the extra aim assist with the laser rifle.
If you die to it with a AR or other medium range weapon then you are probably engaging it at its optimal range and at the end of your effective range (or perhaps are engaging them close to your absolute range).
Meaning you are engaging it where the laser rifle was meant to win. Additionally the weapon does really low damage at CQC and medium range (50- 60m). Now that I have a taste of the laser rifle with aim assist in 1.4, I think that if its optimal range was made to be a wider range (example: 80-90m to 60-100m) then it would be OP because it is easier to have very good accuracy now with the laser rifle.
Additionally if your proto suit dies to a BPO suit or militia suit then obviously your opponent is better skilled than you (if its a head on fight) if he took you by surprise then he deserves the kill. |

He points out 2 problems with Scouts.
1. His Scout suit is too weak to go head-on against an AR-wielding Assault when he already lost most of his health killing one previously, and doesn't have armour reppers so he started the fight with practically nothing but shields to save him.
2. The Shotgun problem which has already been identified by CCP with a patch due in about 24 hours.
Other than that, he was relying on bad tactics that only worked in the past thanks to poor hit detection, and deserved the damage he took as a result. |

That's with a Gek. What is realy nasty is a scrambler pistol high damage almost alway's head shot's, 2 round's kill. Off to try the breach and tac ar yummy. |

I was just reading SO MUCH of what sounded like "elitist hate" post from fps players that have spent 8 months pub stomping the crap out of new players... Well it felt good to take a jab back at them
I am neither new to dust nor good at aiming with the DS3. I don't plan on earning a living playing e-sports so spending hundreds of hours building fps ADS skills doesn't hold the kind of thrill for me that it may for others.
I will just say that my biggest point "in support of aim assist" is my position against everyone bandwaggoning against aim assist because of what looked like a wave of elite players whining about a change in game mechanics.
As most of you should know, people seem much different in squad voice than they do on the forums. And I believe that most of us want a skill based competitive FUN game that is played by thousands upon thousands of peeps worldwide.
I just don't agree that every poster on these forums (myself included) knows the best approach to developing that game right now |

Tune down the aim assist A LOT and fix matchmaking then it'd be great. Armor is as good as shields, MDs aren't the only weaponthat hits reliably anymore, tanks are better (by a little little bit), and the sound and visuals are awesome.
It had ggreat fixes but the new glitches ruin it. |

Couple questions, is aim assist automatically set to on? And can you track who has it on and if they've gotten a butt load more kills? I didn't check to see if it was on or not last night, but I noticed that my shots were hitting the targets, and I was able to kill. I wonder if people who are complaining about aim assist are actually just feeling hit detection kicking in. |

The game is garbage with it. First of all stop calling it "aimbot".
From what I understand the initial build allowed for some random moments of over assisting, allowing people to get kills hey shouldn't have, this was random however and did not affect all users. Since the last patch it seems to have settled down a bit so it should not be such an issue regardless.
And finally, your whole statement is completely ignorant: every game HAS aim assist, every fps for the console for he last decade has had aim assist. If you sucked at the game pad for dust but were a beast in any other fps (i tear **** up in bf3/halo/mag/moh etc.) it probably means the game pad in place for dust sucked. |

There are a lot of FPS games for consoles that have only a "passive" aim assist - the kind the CCP devs call "aim friction", which was active in 1.3 and hasn't been adjusted for 1.4 at all. This is not affected by the "aim assist on/off" option in the menu, so it can't be disabled.
The aim assist that has caused problems is an auto-aim system where your character will act without player input, turning to track a target under certain conditions. |
