I snipe a lot, and it is relatively easy to hit a scout because the tend to run gas in one direction. Just predict and wait for the hitbox to pass the crosshair. |

If they're using a charge sniper rifle then they probably had the skills to go all the way to proto and its not just for show. You have nothing to complain about. |

I can't find it at the moment, but I'm pretty sure devs said that snipers won't get aim assist. It would be too powerful for them. |

COLLISION model increase, not HIT DETECTION model. You run into things while further away, and get caught on walls when you cut too close, but you DON'T get hit by shots that would miss you if you were standing still.
Also, I've learned from watching my girlfriend snipe, so I don't get sniped very often as a Scout. Know where snipers are likely to be, and know where the good cover spots are. Don't run around in the open and trust your speed, and if you have to go into the open, DON'T RUN IN A STRAIGHT LINE EVER. Zigzag, short curves, cutting from a short curve into a zigzag, whatever it takes to get where you're going in a NOT STRAIGHT LINE. If you're moving along a predictable path, your enemy will predict your path and you will get shot.
As a Scout, getting hit by a Sniper round is almost always instant death. It's possible to one-shot some Scout suits with a Militia Sniper Rifle and no damage mods. So your goal should be to make hitting as difficult as you can make it. |

Just to be clear, sniper rifles are not being given the new aim assists. The only assist they have is aim friction which reduces input slightly when close to a target. The MD, Flaylock and plasma cannon are also not being given assists. |

As a Scout, getting hit by a Sniper round is almost always instant death. It's possible to one-shot some Scout suits with a Militia Sniper Rifle and no damage mods. So your goal should be to make hitting as difficult as you can make it.
Good advice. At sniper ranges, the speed of a scout suit is trivial... it's an ant crawling across the screen slightly faster than the others. Duck in cover, zigzag, be a pain in the ass to aim at, and if you're lucky the sniper will probably get tired of wasting bullets and try to kill someone else.
Also, adding to Garrett's advice, DO NOT JUMP.
It will be very hard to resist the reflex. Jumping might help in close quarters or against inexperienced snipers. To an experienced sniper however, jumping is telling them to take the shot NOW because you're going to be moving in a VERY predictable arc that YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER for almost a FULL SECOND. Even if you survive, you just wasted half your stamina, which you need to GET TO COVER.

I can live with the reduced friction for sniping. Also don't listen garrett, jumping is a great strategy, I encourage targets, I mean mercs to jump as it will supprise the sniper and stuff. |
