+3% RoF per level seems terrible to me.
Maybe if you're a Breach Shottie fanatic its useful, but I haven't seen any of them after the hit detection and aiming problems started. |

I think they have it right by not giving it "+3% Damage per level" like every other weapon, because the Shotgun pretty much kills in one - two shots anyway.
Maybe if they increased it from '+3%' to '+5%' it'd be worth it. |

Shotgun scout here. It is exactly what I want, and fairly balanced as well. In situations where there are more than one merc, the faster I shoot, the longer I live.
Just fix hit detection for it. please |

I have mine at 4 an I'd say it's pretty rad, but I still miss a ton of shots anyway but I have noticed I live longer shooting faster, but I wish it had sharpshooter skill for range |

Out of curiosity what is the optimal range for SGs? With the hit detection like it is, I get varying results. |

The bonus definitely seems marginal to me.
Maybe the RoF bonus would be useful if... Hit detection registered my shotty rounds -_-
It's so unreliable enough to the point that I stopped using my PRO Shotty and started spraying ARs... I have too much pride to go MD lol...
As a side note: I think that when hipfiring the SG, the shot should fly wide. When aiming down, it should have a tight spread... |

I didn't see a difference There's a difference of like 0.5 seconds per level, nothing that too noticeable i tested lvl 3 to lvl 2 w/ DJINN Marauder and i finished about that much faster. Its not worth the SP. If it was changed to bigger clip size, say 1 per level i'd be happy, rather than the way it is. |

I don't mind the RoF bonus, but I do find it odd that the shotgun is literally the only weapon where proficiency doesn't increase damage. |

While amazingly fun, it's actually a horrible idea. I used to get SOO many kills from far away on it with its range it wasn't even fair, especially when I would slam dunk them from afar. haha IMO Shotgun needs a massive buff on hit detection, very small range buff, Reload speed to work and Prof. V to work. That's pretty much it. |

The shotgun needs to be taken out of this game. It's useless and doesn't belong in this kind of shooter. The only way it could be saved is: no stacking penalties if you have it on a fit, damage over range increase proficiency, and better hit detection... Nobody does good with a shotgun, At best it's just a clean up weapon that steals teammate's kills.

Its more to do with hit detection and aiming being terrible, than it being useless.
Trust me, when they're both fixed, you'll see a lot more shotgunners. |

They worked awesome in the Betas. But since they took off the Sharpshooter proficiency, where it added lethality and range, they become obsolete.

When fighting the controls to straft and actually get a hit off the prof is a afterthought really. Wish CCP would fix the damn descirptions already(decrease ROF what??) it's been like that since beta LAST YEAR!! |

Shotguns are fine sans hit detection issues. I would survive so much longer if when I had my crosshair on someone point blank the round actually did damage, rather than producing a hit marker and leaving me dead to an enemy with full health. I do however think that Shotgun Op. should widen spread instead of tighten it, either that or give us a sharshooter skill. |

its ok but i would rather have damage bonus and they should change the operation skill to rate of fire increase and do away with the spread decrease its a shotty u want a wide spread unless were using slugs, seems like not alot of thought was put into this. |
