Thanks why i think LIGHT assault vehicles should not be able to be driven by heavy suits (still ride as gunner). Not much of a big deal in its current state, but when heavys are beast mode again, it will be bullsht once more. He'll even an assault suit using it like this is a problem: 1Hop out instantly and start shooting from next to the LAV 2 start to lose the fight, get low on ammo or hp 3 press O and instantly transport to drivers seat a drive away in a split second
A delay to enter and/or start driving away could prevent this from becoming a problem. If road kills are fixed this will be the next epidemic. |

CCP Rattati wrote:Yeah, I thought so, but then again, I'm a cqc solo player who never even looked at the vehicle skill tree. Is why you have those of us, that mostly skilled into Vehicles, and don't have a first clue how to use an HMG
CCP Rattati wrote:And FYI, not all us ccp devs are actually hands on developing features for Dust. I just love the game and enjoy discussing it, getting feedback and good ideas, and sometimes channeling them to the right places. No worries - some of us actually have a basic understanding of how the real world works. |

Well the way i remember the old murder taxi's where never really a problem, yes you had the two heavy's popping out, but they could be effectively countered by another heavy, that just ripped the lav to shreds. But people started crying nerf and this is what you get. you get lav's that are nearly indestructible, if i fire my hmg at a lav now it bearly scratches it and that's just the militia one. But ok a swarm could take care off that except for the LLav and there's not much that can destroy that one. Every action has a reaction and if you take one predator away, another will take its place. The best solution to the murder taxi is the heavy. If ccp can make it so that the damage they do to infantry is somewhat the same, but against lav its higher, but not god like. And tanks none existent offcourse. Then that would decrease the murder taxi, since there would be another anti lav weapon on the field, that is more effective. Afterall there is always going to be more heavy's on the field then swarmers.
And as for AR vs HMG. The problem with the AR is not the damage they do, but there accuracy. The HMG user has to deal with alott of factors like recoil, wide bullet spread, overheating, slow and low maneuverability, low accuracy, etc. (plus they allways seem to gang on us.) But ok we will adept. But the AR user does not have these or not to such high extent. If i'm using my AR and i'm firing on someone, between 85% and 90% of those bullets will hit there target, if there not bunny hopping around. At a longer distance it decreases but it is still highly effective. That and offcourse mouse users will always have a faster reaction time and better accuracy then a controll user, but that aside. The fact of the matter is the AR needs a bit more bullet spread after a surtain distance and they need a bit more recoil, especially on lower tier levels. That beeing said does not mean, that a prototype weapon, should have such recoil that you can hardly control it, but what i am saying is there should be a visible difference in tier levels. a millitia weapon should not be just as effective accuracy wise, same recoil, bullet spread, overheating, etc as a prototype. If CCP where to implement these then alott of problems would be solved. The AR user would have to work a bit harder and smarter if they go up against an HMG user, especially with lower tier weapons and we HMG users allready have to work harder just to stay alive.
As for the current FOM MD, the problem of the MD is not the fact they fire effective grenades, i believe they are how they where meant to be. the problem is there unlimited supply limit, when hives are in play. Personally i believe the MD should have like what the grenades have as an effect on hives and that is you can only supply so many of them. A hive should have something like i'll give you one more clip and that's it. After that an MD user would have to visit a supply depot, to restock on ammo. Offcourse Hives themself and logibro's are a part of that problem aswell. CCP should realise that hybrid hyves, just creates more problems then they think. There should be different types of hyves, one for grenades, one for ammo, one for repair and one for mines. This way a logibro would have to choose what role he is going to play. That and there should be a limit one how many hives a logibro can carry, for instance max only two ammo or 1 ammo and 1 grenade hive etc. The third slot can then only be used for other modules, like reviving or scanning or mines, etc. This makes sure that there is not an unlimited supply of them, but also makes the role of the Logibro more effective and needed. It would also mean alot more people use the logibro and therefore in its turn, mean there would be more then likely someone that can revive you. As for the hives it also means that someone that uses an AR or other weapon would then choose an ammo hive over a grenade hive 70% of the time and someone that uses the MD would then choose the grenade hive, but would have to counter in effect the limited supply of just one more extra clip. what would also mean that sidearms become more usefull to have. ETC, ETC, ETC......

You can get equivelent ehp to a heavy with a Caldari assault or logisuit (or a galente assault and logi suit) and still have higher movement speed, equipement, high stamina, low scan profile, AV (swarms are just as good as forguns), and carry an AR which out dps every gun in the game from 5m (outside CQC range) up to 75m.
Please show us this Caldari/Gallente Assault suit/Logi suit that has equivalent HP to a heavy. Please show fittings, taking into account skills (you may use all level 5 in your example). Please also make sure it all fits within the prescribed PG/CPU limits. |

For the gal Logi its possible BUT its only possible to outtank eHP wise you will have no grenade and no euipment. I have done the math with the Duvolle...Although this is a stup Build its possible to some degree..
Heres the Build (if my math was correct ^^)
H: Complex Shield Extender H: Complex Damage Mod H: Complex Damage Mod L: Complex Armor Plate L: Complex Armor Plate L: Complex Armor Plate L: Enhanced Armor Plate L: Enhanced Armor Plate W: Duvolle Assault Rifle G: N/A E: N/A E: N/A E: N/A E: N/A
PG: 90 CPU: 392 Shield: 185 Armor: 912 Movement Speed: 3,7 Sprintspeed: 5,2
For that Build I assume the new values for Armor plates and max skill |

I want a really big-fsckin charged broadsword.. oh wait.. that may be a different game but hell wouldn't that be fun? hehe
I would like heavies to be able to do 2 things:
* Climb over things, I can't jump on a freakin curb, can I at least stumble up it like a fat-boy-vault? And when you build these walkways or front-porch style fully gated walk arounds I have to find the entry exit point because I can't get over the silly low fence that everyone else can.
* Increased sensitivity within the near deadzone of the joystick. I admit I enjoy some forge sniping when not going all HMG RAAAA and there is a really crappy deadzone within the first few degrees of the joystick that make it rather difficult to get any response on a small scale. It's not a game mechanic it's a systems issue--I don't even know if its repairable but I'd like someone to look into it someday.
We are definitly no OP, my KD ratio shows that I get annihilated enough. What people get stupid with is why can't my scout or medium frame run directly at me while I'm crouched and in full focus. You're not supposed to run right at the turrets. That's why those OP snipers with little directional inference love my fsckin head so much. ;-)
J/K -- snipers are OP, I just want a better way to find those PITA's.
We play in a world of the distant future with barely any intelligent HUD features. Oh well -- /goes back to sleep |

I'm at 1200 HP on my Adv. Heavy Frame with only enhanced plates and no shield extenders.
EDIT: That is before the plates get a buff. |
