With 1.4 I have no complaints. I actually see some great unexpected changes (Scrambler Rifle buff FTW), but I am worried about how easy it will be for me to see the health of allies.
As of right now, it still takes some effort to aim at my teammates when they are far away...and even then, I can't easily tell who is in need of help and who isnt.
I fully agree with the removal of friendly player icons from the sides of the screen, but how will this affect my ability to quickly address a situation? will I still be able to see friendlies' health when they are nearby? Or will my best bet be to find a random squad?
I tend to work alone these days...and I don't just support my squad members even if I am in a squad. __________________________
I could be totally wrong here so excuse me if I have read the patch notes wrong...but this could be a big downside for me as a logi.
Maybe the solution would be some more icons to represent a player that is below a certain % of armor who needs reps, similar to the icon for a downed player? |

I think players with rep tools in their equipment slot should be able to see teammates' armor HP more easily than without a rep tool in the slot. I don't know how difficult that would be to implement though. |

Gonna need to start scanning your allies for sure now, and listen carefully for rep call outs from squadmates...
Gonna be... interesting... for sure.
I would totally support health bars showing when people have armor damage when you have a rep tool equipped, that would be a nice change. |

Yup. People already don't use reps very often. Even if it was just for your squad, it would help. Maybe have the teammate's chevron pulse like a heartbeat or something when they're below 30% of their armor. |

This is what forums are for though, speculating on new changes and then giving feedback once we've tried them.
These kinds of posts are a good thing dude, encourage these types of posts. They are much more productive than whining and bitching about how you can no longer see health bars and you are quitting the game. Am I wrong? |

Yeah, this post isn't here to tell CCP that they should have done A rather than B, but instead to bring up a perspective that they might not have looked at.
For instance, the new system is great for assaults/heavies/scouts/sqauds who don't want blue dots cluttering up their HUD, but is bad for logistics who need to know where their teammates are at all times. |

I'm not discouraging the post, its a valid point that logi's need to be able to see players health but as this is a totally new system and we don't even have a screenshot of in game action post patch why should we assume you won't get enough information to know who to help? After all, from what little we do know, if you decided to run knives (mad I know) then you wouldn't get player feed until your right next to them, right? But all we have is a short description to go on. Who knows, it might be something easily adapted to. and your right, not constructive to whine after the fact |

CCP have seen the changes & could explain a little better to avoid some of the problems we have seen over the recent months. Also there is nothing wrong with speculation & trying to better an idea before it is put in game. |

Great post on this topic.
Since we are wearing highly advanced dropsuits, its a bit odd that all suits have the same HUD.
Maybe have role-specific HUDs that address these points. Logis could have icons of squad mates on the top or left/right of main view with health indicators. Think LoL/Dota2 overlays to get an idea. you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time CCP ;)

I agree with this. Wouldnt it be nice to make a change within the suits themselves, so logistics suits see this information while assault and other types dont? This could become a feature very important to distinguishing role types and discouraging their use as a different role, while not making it impossible. Because its the little things that count. |

As a drive and pilot I need to see the health of my gunners so I know when to run and save their suits. Please let me keep health bars for people in my vehicles. They might not have changed it, and shouldn't have but some confirmation would be lovely. |

The best solution for this would be health bars down in the corner with your vehicle above each "dot" where a player is in the vehicle. They could also be color coded to represent who's almost dead, etc. |

I'd also like it if we could see the actual armor units (180/180) that people have, because I'd really like to be able to focus my healing on armor tankers, and it would be great if there was a way to tell if someone was an armor tanker. |
