So far some cool stuff, the daily activity is a wonderful idea. Do you continue to get the bonus after capping, or does it just take away from our cap?
Either way would work great for me, as it's either an additional 31k SP which makes it easier for me to cap (saves me about a day of grinding), or it's an additional 31k on top of my cap
I really hope the patch notes tomorrow show that Null's matchmaking is being implemented in 1,4, cause instant battles are becoming absolutely atrocious due to stacked proto squads vs randoms (or randoms with no-so-good squads vs proto squads). The day I see in a blog or patch notes "We will be implementing squad-free modes" is the day this game really changes for me into something I will be able to vastly enjoy on a consistent basis. |

I like everything except the daily log-in bonus which is pretty lackluster. Only 31k more SP a week if you log on all 7 days? Hopefully down the line we'll maybe get something more inspired as a reward/incentive to log in every day (especially after we've hit the cap). |

Good job guys with this latest info and the bits that have been drip fed to us over the last few weeks 1.4 is looking a huge step in the right direction. The daily SPreward is welcome as I play everyday just one question is that per account or per character as I have 3 mercs and would like to know so I don't allocate to the wrong one. Corp TAX is a very welcome addition as I'm sure most corps find its the same players constantly donating. All we need now is the secondary market and corp hangers |

Ah I must have skimmed the part where it says you keep the bonus after Week 1 until you miss a day.
That doesn't discredit my point though. 31.5k and 42k are both really low. I'm not saying I'd rather not have it, but if you're going to introduce something like this, make it sort of worthwhile. |

Not even a single relevant word.
There was nothing about the SP cap rollover system that has been 'SoonTM' for so long and nothing about a respec system, I was thinking on picking Dust again to see what it had to add value to my gaming experience but as usual another bad update. |

But seriously... what is 'shared squad vision'? and what effect will disabling it have? I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong), it means that you will not be able to see a chevron "pop up" due to another team member looking at a target that you are not currently observing as well. This will be interesting, as most people highlight those specific chevrons to counter-snipe snipers, etc. I guess we will be relying more on the attack order, assuming what I said is the change they are bringing. Also might make scanners used more.
Yeah, and CCP said in the latest Dev Blog that they were going to start looking at redistributing WP; possibly this has something to do with adding WP to a person when they are using the Active Scanner (and hopefully/furthermore WP for dropships as well). |

Because it was my understanding that those were considered large sockets. But the wording here is confusing, its as if the SI outpost is composed of more than just a large socket? Or are you referring to a package of sockets that could show up on other maps now? Or possibly, you are saying that there really are 'socket families'? Like you will only see large socket A.L.1 with medium sockets A.M.1 and A.M.2 or A.M.3 ? I'm confused at your language here... Please give more detail?
Research Facility is the first in a new way we are doing the sockets. Your last guess is pretty much dead on. Research is a full blown outpost, however, the two mediums and four smalls are a part of its set. And you will typically in the future not see them mixed with another set of sockets. They may be loaded in a game mode area that does not use the large outpost, but the mediums and smalls would still be from the set. It's possible additions to these sets will come in the future. All SI's will follow this formula in the future at this time. 1 Large Socket, 2 Medium Sockets, 4 Small sockets.

CCP logic loop i like the idea of a formulaic approach to map construction. it follows natures principleof modular-variation where something familiar is changed and altered in various ways. In this way the maps stay fresh and new and happenin, but the players still have something familiar to recognize in the maps, and they will appreaciate the maps more.
bravo.

A word on SP rollover, now please!
CCP Nothin wrote:Now, in regard to the weekly skill cap and the implications of it:
We acknowledge that the current implementation of the skill cap still isn't quite there yet. It doesn't quite allow people to choose when to play as freely as we would like, and it also adds some unnecessary complexity when it comes to using active boosters. This is why we are working our way towards a rollover SP system: instead having your pool of bonus SP being reset according to a fixed weekly cycle, you will steadily accumulate bonus SP to a pool over time that you can then empty through fighting in battles. As a result, everyone should be able to better choose when to come in and claim the available SP. Moving to such a system would have the added benefit of allowing us to make active boosters to give out a constant value over time by having them influence the rate at which SP accumulates into the pool instead of just multiplying SP received at the end of each battle.

The new battle finder was actually a requirement for delivering our modified matchmaking system. We needed to change how it worked anyway so we took the opportunity to make it more relevant at the same time. The real motivation behind the change is to create more accessible and balanced battles which I think we can all agree is a worthwhile goal. |

You should alter the spacing to either fit them all in one row or 2 x 2. The weighting of 2 rows and 3 columns for 4 objects looks very very odd for professional design in my opinion.
No, it's perfectly fine like that from a design and development standpoint, it should either flow left to right and wrap (as it is in the image) or be a bullet list so all four in one vertical line. 2 x 2 would be messy and doesn't allow for automated growth and dynamic design and wouldn't work nicely with an ood system. |

Shared squad vision is that if a player on the far north of the map sees a red dot in front of them, so does the friendly blue dot in the squad all the way to the far south, and so does the entire team see the red dots on the mini-map. Seems to be some sort of buff or actual implementation of the scanners role in the game.
And this seems pretty smart to me cos it should mean less information being sent within the data packets which means less server-side and local processing unless in situations where it's necessary due to the active scanners! And less information means less lag... All of this is good stuff and every single small change like this should improve the gameplay.. |

You seem to have weird priorities. SP cap rollover and especially a useless respec system (you get unlimited SP god dammit. There's no need for respec at all) would be just boring. But new maps and installations? That's interesting. |
