Okay, I'm at least a little bit excited. 1.4 could really set the tone for the future of Dust development. If you deliver real progression in 1.4 then 1.5 then people are really going to start to pay attention to Dust as it gathers momentum.
+1 rep to all devs. |

-XOXO LAVs were not that big a problem. people just needed to run more AV. Or actuall invest skill points into AV gear... with this nerf there is no need to use AV gear beyond militia swarms and miltia Forguns. Well we will see how this plays out. from the way its written, it seems that you can still do damage with an LAV if you hit someone. still, dust players really need to get real and start exploring more weapons and equipment in the game other than just "caldari logistics, sheld and armor plates, AR"
The Char is the hardest thing in this game to kill. I've got proto swarms and proto nades.
Unless they get hung up on something after they attempt running someone over it's pretty tough to kill them. |

Isn't the blog making claims about 1.4? So how complaining they aren't fixed and that the blog is lying is wrong to say, since the blog is tell you what is coming on 3rd Sept.

You realize, if you were to release tidbits of this information earlier, less people would be rioting; that or you like to make people look like fools by disengaging them with content they wouldn't expect. Regardless, I approve CCP. +1 |

You failed to read this part right here: Uprising 1.3 saw important behind-the-scenes updates and bug fixes (as I am sure you all can see when in normal match-made battles), as well as the large-scale Planetary Conquest battles. But for the most part, the release focused on stability and performance.
By contrast, Uprising 1.4 is more substantial with regard to user-facing game systems. Let's get into some of the improvements the dev teams have made in the latest release cycle.
So go jump on another alt and high five yourself with some likes as you are confused about a great many things. |

"Full 5k terrain" what are they currently ?
If memory is correct from other dev interviews only around 2.5k to 3k right ? So that means the new map is going to be almost double the size of the current ones !? |

as of right now you see red dots on your tacnet that your squad sees. soon you will only be able to share tacnet info if someone is running an active scanner. |

Shared squad vision is that if a player on the far north of the map sees a red dot in front of them, so does the friendly blue dot in the squad all the way to the far south, and so does the entire team see the red dots on the mini-map.
Seems to be some sort of buff or actual implementation of the scanners role in the game. |

I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong), it means that you will not be able to see a chevron "pop up" due to another team member looking at a target that you are not currently observing as well. This will be interesting, as most people highlight those specific chevrons to counter-snipe snipers, etc. I guess we will be relying more on the attack order, assuming what I said is the change they are bringing. |

So, the VoIP part is after "By contrast, Uprising 1.4", also it's a user facing system so it fits. |

There should be squad leader mods that enable this (at varying distances) and other cool stuff for your squad at the expense of one of your slots. |

I really like being able to fight for different factions. That's big for me. I play this game for the big picture. I love the idea and want to invest time in it. Anything that allows me to access the world and the story elements of the game are a big plus. It's refreshing to feel like investing in the story isnt going to detract from the SHOOTING.
Love the battle finder as well. Every once in a while I'll get on the star map for about half an hour looking at the different systems. I love it, but eventually I run out of steam as I realize I still can't interact with it in any meaningful way. Appreciate the context here. Also, seeing names like GIX-9 on every system and planet gets old, albeit accurate to how we actually categorize them in real life. More contests to name planets please!
Overall love the changes. But on question, are more plants like trees part of any of the new moods?
EDIT: Read more carefully through some of the comments. Big +1 to squad deployments |

CCP Praetorian wrote:It's been a while since we've released brand new levels into the game. We are adding a brand new Research Facility Surface Infrastructure (comprised of one large outpost, 2 medium components and 4 small components) and a full 5k terrain with three battlegrounds called Craters. We are also releasing new GÇ£moodsGÇ¥ to add more flavor and realism to the universe of New Eden. .
So the RF SI... would that be comparable to the Biomass Outpost or Orbital Artillary Outpost? Because it was my understanding that those were considered large sockets. But the wording here is confusing, its as if the SI outpost is composed of more than just a large socket? Or are you referring to a package of sockets that could show up on other maps now?
Or possibly, you are saying that there really are 'socket families'? Like you will only see large socket A.L.1 with medium sockets A.M.1 and A.M.2 or A.M.3 ? I'm confused at your language here... Please give more detail? |

I like the daily activity progressive bonus system, it is good to reward the highly active players. In the screenshot, it looks like the maximum daily bonus after 7 consecutive days logging in is 6000 SP. Is that going to be the actual amount, or is that just what it was when the screenshot was taken? If so, it seems like the bonus should be a little higher than the equivalent of the SP earned by AFKing for one Skirmish match.
Also, right now it looks like it will be a linear progression, but it would be nice if the bonus increased by more and more each day. It doesn't have to be an exponential increase, just a graduated increase. Logging in 7 days in a row could be much more difficult than logging in 5 or 6 days in a row.
If I took a stab at a proposed daily active SP bonus progression, it would probably look something like this:
3000 SP > 6000 SP > 10000 SP > 15000 SP > 21000 SP > 28000 SP > 36000 SP
This would represent progressively increasing the SP on top of the previous day's rewards of:
0 SP > 3000 SP > 4000 SP > 5000 SP > 6000 SP > 7000 SP > 8000 SP |

Ok CCP nice blog very much appreciated :)
I like it, some changes in there that are unexpected but great none the less. New maps are a great addition , thank you for that. The daily login bonus is a small but welcome addition. I have seen that in numerous online games so why not.
I assume you are still going ahead with the Laser rifle scope and ADS speed changes? :)
