NPC Corps in EVE have 11% tax rate for a reason. |

Do you really have that much of a problem with isk flow? Seriosly, I think its going to be a great way to compensate the dropship and tank pilots. Will you even notice a 5 or 10% tax rate? |

Add more incentives to player made corps first, like corp armories and item trading.
Then we can start penalizing people in NPC corps.
Otherwise everyone would just do what I do and make swathes of 1 man corps. Corp overflow. |

You're forgetting something very important about this community, it is full of asshats who will exploit every single thing they can, just because they can.
It is something that is unavoidable given the nature of New Eden's HTFU motto where anything bad can (and probably will) happen. |

Seriously? It's not an issue, if say a Corp set a tax rate at 10% based on the average earnings in a battle that would only come out somewhere between 15-20k, you'll hardly notice it. |

Still doesn't mean that a portion of the community won't exploit it just because they can. |

Or join a player corp with a 0% tax rate.

A corp that can't provide tangible benefits to their members is going to set the tax rate to 0%, or everyone is going to leave...
That's not an exploit, but exactly what we have now. If a corp charges taxes, it better has some benefits in store to convince their members to stay.
Tankers always complain about the cost of their tanks. You know what the solution to that is? Tank reimbursement programs. If a tanker is really beneficial for their corp, the corp can reimburse their losses. This to me is a much better solution than to lower the cost of tanks (and thus cause a tank inflation) or make tanks less powerful. I'll happily give my share to supports programs such as that.
The only reason to set NPC tax would be to provide an _extra_ incentive to join player corps, but I don't believe that we need this for now. It's already almost a no-brainer to join a corp in Dust. The situation was and is much different in EVE, where staying in an NPC corp allows you to dodge war decs, and most people play solo PVE anyway. The only reason not to join a corp in Dust is if you are absolutely adamant to play solo. And if that's the case, forcing you into a player corp via NPC tax is not useful at all. |

What the hell are you on about joining a corp or staying in an NPC one is a personal choice. The only difference is if someone joins a NPC corp for 0% tax or their own corp with 0% tax. Placing taxes on NPC corps is not the right way to go as new players join NPC corps. Why tax new players who wont even know what taxes is the system is in place for a reason. It's probably also the reason people making 100k or less aren't being taxed. Your proposed changes are pointless and just a waste of isk to people in NPC corps. |

So you're saying start off with 0% in 1.4 and then in 1.5 or 1.6 give us a more fleshed out corp mechanic as well as increasing the NPC corp tax rate to 11% minimum? |

Sort of. Although I expect it to be more like: 1.4 - Corp Taxes, NPC tax at 0% 1.5 - Vehicle Patch 1.6 - Director Roles 1.7 - Corporation Deploy in FW 1.8 - Bug Fixes 1.9 - Corp Armories 2.0 - More bug fixes/ NPC corp tax now set to 11%

By Director Roles, I assume you mean "more roles aside from CEO/Director for Dust Mercs".
TBH, I can't wait until they mirror the Eve Corp roles in Dust. |

Yeah, and that's good reason to not have a tax right now, but I can see it be added in the future if only to encourage joining player corps. It'd be a small tax though. |

NPC Corps could have a selective tax. If you select to pay tax, the corp will allow you to join Planetary Conquest queues and attack random planets and districts based on clone packs from its funding. It won't be anything near the caliber of a stacked corp or alliance but it will be a monkey wrench in the gears. Faction NPC corps united in an alliance forming a pool. How many of them are there? Is there a list?
It would be a great way for players to learn the mechanics of the game. They may even be inspired to join a corp that has an established structure that they want or create their own for finer targeting.
idk maybe it is a dumb idea. new players in PC lol. |
