I am currently at 18.7 million sp
What I mean by this is that I won't have anything worthwhile left to put sp into. Sure, there are more levels I could throw sp into to make my weapons or dropsuits SLIGHTLY better, but I'd rather not waste millions of sp just to make my guns use up one less pg...or something.
Vehicles are not my thing, so I haven't put a single point into them. I have the watch saga anyways...
To better explain, here's what I have calculated I will have at 21 million sp
-All passives such as armor, shields, biotics, engineering, etc. at level 4 (electronics and hacking at 5) -Complex extenders and plates, as well as complex energizers and repairers -Complex damage mods, hacking mods, -1 proto dropsuit, 1 advanced dropsuit (Logistics mk.0, Commando A-1 series) -4 prototype weapons all with at least proficiency 3 (Scrambler Rifle, Mass Driver, HMG, Forge Gun) -2 prototype equipment (repair tool and drop uplink) _____________________
The idea here is that I will have 4 effective roles that I can switch to on the battlefield to help my team. I can be a long range support medic, a close quarters speed hacker, an AV specialist, or a defensive pusher.
What's your opinion? Should I have focused my skills more to become the ultimate logi instead of branching off to the heavy class? Should I start to skill into other roles to be more versatile? What about trying new weapons and equipment?
I'm just surprised that I'm this far already. |

Things to save up for when they arrive...
1. Cloaking modules - According to CCP, it's probably a predator-style cloak 2. Fighters 3. Speeders 4. Portable Bubble Shields - According to CCP, it's probably a Halo-style bubble shield 5. More racial suits and weapons |

Gimme all of my racial suits and bump that to about 40 or 50m. It would be nice to pick from solid Heavy, Logi, Assault, or Scout suits whenever the situation calls for it.

Nice OP
As a counter i am a vehicle user with access to all vehicles currently except ADS and scout LAVs
I have nearly all support skills at lvl5 except lol engineering not 25% PG extra for me unlike dropsuits
We do not have adv/proto mods which i assume will be level 3 and 5 to access, unlike infantry
We do not have adv/proto hulls which will take level 3 and 5 to access, unlike infantry
When we do get these it will be more SP added to the total
Thats not including a pilot dropsuit and any new mods that may work with the dropsuit
Sitting at 22mil SP (i have 5 mil saved for the pilot suit) i have not yet gained access to adv/proto mods or hulls but routinely in pub matches and PC matches im against adv/proto AV nearly every game no matter what vehicle i choose to bring out
OP on the other hand with 21mil invested roughly the same as my SP amount he will be able to do several roles at adv/proto level and can compete and engage with everything currently on the field in pub and PC matches while being more versitile at the touch of a button at a supply depot
This isnt a dig at OP but more of a highlight to show how far vehicles are behind |

When and if this game reaches the point where stuff like armor and shield tanking are differentiated, and you have an organized group/squad/team that dictates armor tank for a match, you would be more viable in a gal logi suit. Or if shield is called for you'd do better in a cal logi suit.
But as long as all the suits are just a mishmash of the same old same old it makes not much sense to skill into other suits... but there might be a time when this is.
I for myself plan to eventually skill into all racial logistic suits. So i will most certainly not be done at 21mil SP.

Well I look at it a little different, at least to whats "maxed out".
I calculate that as a Logi I'll need roughly 30 M skillpoints to max that role out, with 1 gun and nades.
Just to mention some: -4 kinds of proto equioment - All passive skills at lvl 5 - All AR skills at lvl 5.
Even though it might seem silly to use about 3.6 M skillpoints just for the two skills AR fittting optimisation and AR reload speed, I still want them. Since I use 1 prot CPU extender on all my Logi fits, PG becomes the factor that stops me from putting more fancy stuff on. But getting the last 2 PG out of the suit by lowering the gun fitting cost I might go from a basic to an advanced needle, and the same goes for regulators, bunny hop extenders and so on. As long as you can fit the suit better, its worth it IMO.
Another thing is that doing it "the hard way", getting all those very expensive but low output skills taken care of now, will let me fit future assault suits or whatever to the max right off the bat. I also go into armor plates and other stuff that I don't really use ATM, but if I want to spec into an armor tanked suit later on, all the support skills are bought and ready.
Other than whats been mentioned I would also take this time inbetween content release and "finished roles" to take stuff like extra hacking speed, better stealth, better counter stealth, CPU skills of weapons and grenades and so on.
I think that I'll pass 40 M skillpoints before I actually run out of decent stuff to spec into, by that time, most likely we'll have more content to spec into. Then I will start on either another suit or a sidearm in preparation for another suit... |

Depends on which fitting I'm using. Every fitting and weapon has a weakness.
If I'm running my logi, grenades, snipers, and vehicles are my major weakness as they often come as a surprise to me.
As a heavy, shotguns, assault rifles, and mass drivers can chew me up as there's no way I can dodge their bullets as much or run away from them to get a better angle. |

Sitting on 12.5 million with a maxed out grenadier/support logi role and after ~1.5 million, I'll have my speedy hacker logi maxed out. (Assuming I still have my bonus after 1.4) After that, I'm saving my SP for the combat rifle and working on core vehicle skills when the Minmatar LAV comes out. |

I think it's funny when people suggest to me that I should take a break. There's no other game out right now with a better medic class with an awesome medgun. None. Zero. Nada.
The last one was Resistance 2 co-op (TF2 isn't my thing), and now I'm here waiting for either Destiny or Battlefront 3. The only other ones are for PC, and I don't exactly want to get a gaming PC just to try them. ____________________
As for actually replying to your post...I have tried out many different playstyles with a bunch of different alternate accounts that I created way back in the closed beta. I currently have 4 other characters at about 5-6 million sp:
-A dedicated heavy class (this is where I found out I liked the heavy role) -A dedicated vehicle specialist (I never really found tanks that fun, LAVs and dropships have no wp potential besides being cheap) -A sniper/long range/sneaky scout gallente class (after 1.2 shotgun scouts seemed useless, and i had no idea if the modules were working, and I could never do well with a sniper) -A super speedy shield recharge class (started with minmatar scout and kin cats and shield mods, turned into caldari assault with shield regulators)
My logi character turned split off into a heavy specialist and now I get around 2k+ wp per match because I can take out waves of enemies and tanks if needed, then switch back to support the front lines, or hack a few objectives and switch the odds in our favor, all while constantly earning wp.
But yeah, maybe I will start saving up for say a Caldari/minmatar heavy (or commando class :D), or maybe even the next heavy weapon. |

J/K but I would suggest putting points into nano tech
I have level 3 nanocircuitry
Better nanite injectors are horrible as they both take up more cpu/pg AND give you less wp potential in the long run. I always run milita or standard.
There's no reason to skill past the K-2's as they cost way too much pg/cpu, and the repair ones have to heal you first before they give you ammo. By the time they've healed you, you have wasted time, died, or run out of nanite clusters to actually get ammo from them. I run standard 80% of the time, and the K-2 if I have extra room on my suit.
So no, putting another 700k sp into them just to use prototype is worthless to me. ____________________
Basically, at the respec I chose two equipment to skill to proto. That turned out to be the repair tool for the core repair tool (105/s FTW), and uplinks for the ones that can drop 3 at a time, and the allotek stable (prototype uplink at advanced pg/cpu cost)
Now that I think about it, I should have only skilled to level 4 repair tool (BDR-8 is amazing) and level 2 uplink (stable uplinks are where it's at), but at the time I wanted to help out as much as possible in PC so yeah... _____________________
As a last point, if the nanocircuitry skill helped make nanohives and injectors better, then I would have absolutely maxed that skill out...but all the skill does is unlock stuff... |
