A futuristic tank trap... Love it you know some had mines in ten in WW2 that could be a variant type.

better to leave that to the RE guys to mine them. then you could get assist points if someone gets blown up by one

Dragons teeth are a bit WW2 era. Did you know that dragons teeth and other normal tank traps are pretty much useless against modern tanks (as they just roll over them or crush them).
That said, there is a perfectly viable New Eden alternative: the webifier.
Eve pilots use it all the time to arrest movement of starships.
I propose a deployable piece of equipment called something like "webifier field generator". It deploys like an RE or drop uplink, but has a sustained area of effect that reduces the movement speed of any vehicle going through it by a suitable percentage.
This would also mean that devs won't need to create any new 3d models (as for the dragons teeth), but could implement it quite quickly.

i was a tank driver for 9 years. i tell you now a tank trap would stop me dead. these days you send engineers in to blow up a path through. you certainly dont drive over(crush) them. tanks are easily stopped by the simplest of things

Tank traps as in pieces of steel girders welded together (common during ww2). There are different kinds of tank traps of course but those were the ones I was talking about. Some tanks just push them out of the way.
What type of tank did you drive? A friend of mine was in armour when he served, and apparently those tank traps and dragons teeth don't hold up against Swedish modified Leopard 2's (granted they have souped up engines and thicker armor than the normal Leopard 2's that the Germans exported, which might explain it) |

people have this vision that tanks can do anything and nothing in their path can stop them. i have seen a challenger 2 tank virtually split in 2 because it hit a rock. i have seen barbed wire rip off road wheels. you would be surprised what can actually stop a tracked vehicle in its tracks.
you also won't crush tank traps made of steel girder. no chance. they are designed to hold off tanks. you might be able to push them on hard surfaces like roads but on soft ground they will likely dig in and you will rise up on them and get stuck.
