Id like to get a commando suit.. Sniper rifle, nanohives and swarm launcher.. just rain down hell from the top of a random building
But if you let it keep a heavy weapon and 1 light weapon, Sniper rifle and forge gun.. just attach the scope from the sniper on top of the forge gun

Mass Driver + Scrambler is the way to go, or some other combination of one-two punch. Works best with a squad, as you can support long range and close range. You can even run with a repair tool or injector and support your team further!
Other combos I like: Mass Driver + Mass Driver Scrambler + Assault Scrambler (tactical and standard AR works too) Plasma Cannon + Mass Driver Assault Rifle + Shotgun ___________________
The secret to success is to use both weapons to their full potential. For instance, The scrambler does 20% more damage to shields, and the mass driver does 20% more damage to armor. The downside to these weapons is that they are only efffective vs one type of health, whereas using them in combination means you are doing 120% damage all the time.
Play this class similar to a two handed warrior class. You don't have much health so you have to rely on your damage to take players out before they can take you out. Also, you don't have that much health, and it's even worse that you move slow too. HAHAHAHAHA NOOOOB! NOBODY LISTEN TO THIS FR00B!!!! JUST USE THE DUVOLLE THIS GUY IS TROLL! Don't.
Everytime I get bored I start running comm suits. They are so UP and after a while the drain on my ISK forces me to switch back, Which then prompts me to think, why did I even bother? |

IMO, the commando is for snipers. Put a sniper, a nanohive, and an assault rifle or swarm launcher, then you're all set. Swarm launcher because an ADS is a sniper's worst enemy. |

IMO, The commando would've been much better off as a scout suit. Anyone who has black eagle scout suits should know what I mean.
Low survivability, low slot count, but fast as hell.
Heavies just get too many downsides as a whole, and then taking away their slots and heavy weapon is way more drawbacks than required to justify the pretty cool bonus of having two light weapons.

the answer to making the Commando a good support is not giving it two weapons. It's a nice feature.
But two weapons is not a reason to make the dropsuit systematically WORSE at everything else than an average medium frame.
That's the problem with the commando.
On paper it's absolute trash. In practice on the battlefield it's still fairly lackluster with no concrete advantage over an advanced medium frame. It avoids being trash due to versatility and being able to stick REs to people.
It either needs more slots, OR it needs a buff to it's tank and speed to make it more durable. |

Hahahaha, I was just making a joke. I know well enough that a heavy at the front line is usually the first to die. That's why even when I tried running medic commando I camped objectives with other heavies.
Unfortunately I died even faster than if I just stayed in my basic advanced suit.
But like a couple of the earlier replies, I just skilled into commando because I was getting bored with the basic and sentinel.

Yeah, when I saw that I was happy, but then I checked the speed and was like "Oh, so they have to be melee-ing me or zoomed in with a sniper rifle and not paying attention for it to work..."
But hopefully people are using the suit to give CCP good numbers.
I know when I'm feeling frisky I'm going to run Medi-fat regardless of the situation and not give up on it just because of bad games, because eventually I'll have all of the core skills at 5 so I won't need to spec into proto to tear stuff up. |

Commando Suit Bonus: 5% reduction to reload speed of light/sidearm weapons per level.
Amarr Commando Bonus: +2% to efficacy of shield and armor modules per level.
They're great bonuses but specing into anything heavy is SP intensive. To me it seems like there's very little incentive to shift to that suit, but that's probably because I spend my SP as soon as I get it.... and I only have ~4 million SP.
I'm still going to spec into it, but I just don't get why it's a heavy suit except for it's speed and melee damage... that made it very obvious.

Heavy should be 6.0 Speed
Commandont should be 6.5
Assault should be 7.0
Scout 8.0
I know the scouts fast who would have thunk it. The scout has to be fast because it sacrifices its armor for speed. Just a thought. Only 5 slots at proto? Lame..

I've been playing commando a LOT for the past few weeks. Testing it you might say.
The suit is FUN. Thats why i use it because it STILL SUCKS.
The 3 main load-outs i use:
1-Suicide one (usually the one i start with): Assault Scrambler rifle Exo-5 Drop Uplinks
2-Multi purpose: Burst AR ADv Swarms Nanos
3-Long Ranged Suppressor: Sniper Rifle ADV Swarm launchers Nanos
The 1st one is for SP grinding. Keeping up the team swarm. Then again, i do play solo all the time and sometimes even with 2 drop uplink blues prefer to just sit in the MCC. The AScr and Mass driver combination works very well. But then again this is the 2 light weapons talking, not the suit working....
The 2nd one is for open maps and when there is the need for a push. Im pretty decent with the Burst AR, and in case i see a vehicle ,swarms away.
The 3rd is for the typical (1 every 2 games) we got proto stomped by a clan. When half the team is sitting at the mcc , and the other half is dying / sniping , i take this one out. This is by far the only loadout that works very well for the commando. At level 4 passives i have 600 total HP,that is NOTHING for frontline operations, but for a sniper is enough. Having nanohives lets me camp an area for a LONG period of time. The Adv Swarms let me take out derpships and scare away vehicles. The High Melee damage of the suit is my only defense in CQ thou...
The suit can be used effectively as a DEFENSE suit But slow movement, red coloring, huge hitbox and low total HP compared to MED FRAMES makes this suit a joke if trying to be offensive.
I dont know why its called commando. We got deceived. This is NOT a commando.... |

I have a dual mass driver commando with the EC 3 and th EXO 5. It rains hell from the pipes. I have a sniper/swarm laucher commando. I have a dual flaylock commando. I also have a swarm/mass driver combo for camping high ground to pick off lavs while I shoot guys below me with my mass driver so they don't come get me. The commando is one awesome and versatile suit as long as nobody is shooting at you lol. If they shoot at you run because you will die sooner rather than later. Everybody always talks about his slots being not enough or his HP when its those super sluggish shields that he has that will get you killed most of the time. |

I know everyone keeps saying swarms are good with it, but basically what you're doing is putting swarms there instead of AV nades. I mean, unless you're running advanced or proto swarms, the absense of damage mods kind-of makes using swarms pointless on this suit..
but that's just what I think. I mean if I was going to use swarms, it would be swarms and plasma cannon, or swarms and more swarms XD

You are right, but they are advanced swarms. And its not pointless since swarms can be shot at larger distance without having to be up close.

BTW Swarms and more swarms does not work: The swarm launcher is the only weapon that can not be swapped immediately after shooting it. |

I just don't get why it's a heavy frame, unless it's to be an SP sink. No one who wears a heavy frame uses either light weapons or equipment. No one who uses light weapons and/or equipment has any use for a heavy frame. Maybe there's a thematic reason, but it seems to me that the Commando is really a prestige class for people who have already maxed out a specialization or two. |
