Just scan, and throw 3 flux's into the biggest uplink forest, I'm 99% sure that works. If it doesn't and it's just locuses, then fine I am misremembering but it still works.
Regardless, you can sweep the field, max uplinks I have gotten in one grenade is 5 uplinks/hives.
Not many people go and redeploy, it's usually just the first spawn that people bother to drop them.

Disagreed, respectfully :-)
The most annoying things in Dom are: 1) Snipers. 2) Redlines. 3) Redline Snipers. |

Exsessive spammed uplinks and nano hives are definetely an issue... CCP needs to look into limiting it to X per player regardless of equipment type. This really becomes an issue in PC where IMO this is a MAJOR contributor to lag in PC. |

I've had good and bad experiences with my uplinks. A good team will use them and I have redefined the battle front. A bad team will just be overrun and let them get destroyed.
OB's are a pretty sure way to clear most uplinks from an area.
Uplinks are strategic inhibitors when they can be placed "in the back of the cave" so to speak. That would allow the defending team to keep spawning in safety to hold an objective. However there really aren't many locations on the maps where this is an option. Most interior objectives are open to the sky for and OB to take care of, or have multiple entrances. I think there is one socket with the objective at the third basement level but that isn't used in Domination.
I like them in general for their ability to strategically define the battlefield, but at the same time I dislike them for diminishing the transport role of dropships. Nobody is going to take the bus when they can teleport.
However the dropship is still good for the initial assault on an objective with no uplinks (or lots of enemy uplinks) so that may be fine. The role of assault pilot is more fun than being a shuttle bus driver, and matches without a pilot on large maps could be frustrating without uplinks.
I think a lot of the "uplink spam" complaints come from folks who aren't willing to create a fitting with flux nades on it. |

Personally I always wear my uplink suit when im flying my ADS, besides destroying other peoples rooftop uplinks I love to land and throw down my own, great for when I fly over a deserted capture point as well, land drop uplink wait for the amazingly rare smart berry to spawn and take the point. |

Or a more thematic way: when you spawn on a drop uplink, a flash of invisible radiation wipes out any nearby friendly uplinks.
You can even make it do damage to enemy uplinks too - that would be really interesting.
How much damage? Let's just make it that each uplink spawn does 50% of the uplink's HP to any nearby uplinks, so two or three spawns would take out any type.

Create a new turret: EMP Mortar Turret.
It sits deep in the redzone, behind a hill, and you need a spotter to zero it in but once you do it drops a mini barrage that destroys all of the equipment including under the bridge in the designated area. However, it does not affect personal shields as I think it would become OP and too spammable.
Give it limited shots or a big cool down so you need to plan when to use it I.e. before a big rush. |

I don't, but still, having a game mode that divides the player-base even more, when that game mode is pointless and unnecessary... is a bit annoying. Hell, if we all played only skirmish Scotty may even work !! maybe..... |

Domination relies on spam way too much.
To the point where it's not even tactical anymore.
tbh this entire game promotes spam gameplay which is concerning.

I ONLY play domination. I get first place EVER match and that's what pisses u cry babies off. When they nerf drop uplinks, u WILL be crying when you have to walk your fat azzez from the CRU. I only get HALF of my WP from links. I get the rest from blowing up anything red that gets near an objective. I may have zero kills, but I'm the one helping you WIN the battle. Time is money. It's my fault you team is lazy and cheap? I lose 200-300k every match. Make 400-800k. I pay to win! |

As an equipment intensive Logi I've had quite a bit of experience with uplinks.
I spend the first part of a match making runs to lay out uplinks and hives from four different fits, stopping off at a SD to change out if I don't get killed in the line of duty. Good teams hunt down my equipment and destroy it. By the time I've gotten around to making my first ammo run a good team has neutralized over half my uplinks. That can keep me in supply mode the entire match, unable to switch to medic. It's also really expensive for me as those fittings with proto equipment aren't cheap and I have to run more risks for good placement and making multiple runs increases my exposure considerably.
Bad teams leave my stuff alone so I can go into medic or slayer mode about a quarter of the way into a Domination match.
Uplinks are best separated by enough distance that one doesn't lead the enemy to discover the next. There are some cases where I'll drop a few in close proximity, such as the objective on the bridge, simply because there is only one pretty exposed path to the objective. For the most part you don't need more than one proto uplink just like you don't need more than one door in a room. You can fit as many mercs through one uplink as half a dozen.
Nano hives can be profitably overlapped if they are healing or triage hives. A stack of those at the front can really assist the team, but they are vulnerable to hand tossed grenades of all types as well as MD rounds so they don't last as long.
I also try to keep the amount of equipment in one place to a reasonable level because the sound level stacks and it starts to resemble a noisy factory floor where you can't hear the enemy sneaking up on you. |

An interesting thought, spawning on one would destroy any other nearby friendly uplinks... don't think I like the idea of damaging enemy uplinks. Still, lots of ways to fix / address the issue and I think we all agree something should be done.
I still believe you need some kind of limit per character or team since this would not stop corps from spamming then in worthless locations slightly away from battle to create lag (yes, one of our guys saw someone do this!). |
