well, thats what this gamemode is about...you have to work w ur team to stay in the battle and not getting redlined. but i know that the most blueberies do not understand that and therefore they are using your sqd's upinks until those are used and if there arent any other spawnpoints they are going either sniping or afking in the mcc. sad but true |

But yeah, it's weird that it's always the other team that spams them, and always my team that never puts any down. |

The sad part is that we can't go back to before when you actually had to look for uplinks. Everyone is already in the habit of spamming them. But ironically you never see people using them in skirmish of all places when you really do need them. |

Fighting the Amarr in FW also usually results in uplink spam. It was horrible: I swear I smashed at least 5 uplinks around an objective, but there were still more.... |

my squad loves when the team does that!! They think they can unwisely waste clones, and are saddened when we win by clone count. |

I dunno, its a tough call between my team never dropping uplinks and getting slaughtered, or my team having the control point completely surrounded with ~75% of our players spawned yet refusing to move in to cap while the cluster**** cannon gets 4 volleys off on our mcc
I was on the other side of the latter situation earlier today, enemy had a half dozen mercs overlooking our control point, but they were too afraid of the trickle of 1-2 rapidly dying mercs from our team to hack the point |

I think the spammability of drop uplinks devalues their worth.
If there were only a few drop uplinks available per side, then destroying them would be
a) not a futile effort due to there being 29 others b) a solid tactical advantage

The game mode is all about clearing the enemy out, clearing the uplinks out, then capturing the objective. Too many people want to bypass all the steps and run in and try to capture, maybe kill a few people along the way. You need to identify where the uplinks are, and slowly work on pushing forward and taking them out (you can shoot uplinks from far away, or you can flux them). Then lay your own uplinks.
I really like Domination, it just requires a more patient plan of attack slowly chipping away at the enemy defenses. You're not going to be able to one-man-show or even two-man-show the entire base by blindly charging in and letting your shooter skills take over like in Skirmish |

I think Domination would better if the Objective randomly changed places every few minutes, or when a team has held the objective for X amount of time.
It would give a chance for losing teams to stay in the game, while being fair and making the game mode more competitive. Rushing to the next objectives area would promote vehicles in a "dash to the objective" instead of just running people over. It would also bring out AV to counter.
Any game mode that promotes using lavs, tanks, dropships, av and infantry persistently throughout, is a great match in my opinion. |

This has got me thinking a bit, what if there was a dropship module that would scan underneath it and disable all equipment, but would require to stay within range for a good length of time? Just a thought . . . |

Here is a step by step way to get rid of uplinks
1. Go to the market and purchase flux grenades
2. Go to your dropsuit fitting and equip the flux nades in your grenade slot
3. Enter a domination
4. Spawn in and leave your MCC
5. Run to the objective and if you see enemy uplinks throw your flux grenades at them and get rid of them
6. Rinse and Repeat |

The other team spamming several droplinks does not prevent the first team spamming in the first place.

SIRAJKNIGHT wrote:Is that the other team spams Drop uplinks around the Objective and wins 95 percent of the time That's pretty much how people win it. there only is one objective and sometimes it can be 300m away from the MCC making uplinks really the only way to play that game mode.
unfortunately most of the time I end up with people who have no idea and we end up losing the match mainly because the enemy is clumped around or above the objective and my team can only trickle in 2 at a time.
I've since stopped playing. |

I love Domination. I drop a couple of uplinks and watch the WP roll in! Also as a logi this is the best game mode at forcing people to actually work together which means a medic actually has some value.

I don't complain when my team doesn't blob uplinks on objective.. because I will and more wp for me , and I know the team has a few decent places to spawn in without losing their head ( on occasion I do place some in ****** locations in heat of battle, can't be perfect... ) |

One thing I have noticed over the year , many dusters grow tired of standing by an objective guaranteeing it's protection. If they are all over it, and it's spammed like a mofo with uplinks and your team can't beat them head on.. don't push in, pull back.. they will usually get tired of standing around not getting kills and try to come out and find you , most times your redline.
That's when you strike hard, go in fast with a LLAV loaded with 3 people or something, passenger being a logi with lot's of uplinks. He jumps out spams the uplinks while the other guy clears red uplinks and driver hits any one willing to come in view driving circles around objective. Try your best to hold it down when the enemy realizes whats up, and hope your team isn't to butthurt already and will come to your aid on the uplinks as they die at redline.
this is not a guaranteed win, but it can work.
There is one map that this really can not be done on though, which is sad.. I can't remember the name, I am bad with the map names |

You should check out this thread on Using Radiation Zones to Curtail Drop Uplink Use. I think it's a novel way to recondition but not force players to discontinue uplink spam of objectives. Plus it creates a system for highly dynamic play. |
