Our terrains are huge and we know that in some areas they are not optimal for vehicles. We did finish a tool recently that gives us a much better idea on where these problems occur so expect much less of these types of problems in the future.
However, there will always be areas where we don't intend you to take your vehicle, and if you decide to go there you do it at your own risk.
Maybe we should introduce a new vehicle class. the minmatar tow truck He said huge lol, funny guy. +1 |

How about the fact you STILL get stuck at the top of stairs, or snagged by random invisible meshes? Will those be fixed Soon?

Had something like this just last night, Mid dog fight with another Drop Ship.
Dived for cover behind a building, nothing with in 20 metres of me.. suddenly Ship stops dead, will not move forward, takes a MASSIVE hit of damage and then behaves like it is snagged on a wall, still taking damage, tried to pull back, DS went vertical... hostile DS pilot (who must have been pissing himself) then gets final blow and it's all over.

Where did you "not intend vehicles to go"? Have you looked at the maps? They are pretty much giant bowls that are completely flat in the middle. Terrain issues are a terrible answer to poor map design.

King of the Forums // Seraphim <3 Comment and like this thread about PvE, Here! Also, check out the Indirect Fire ability, Here! Don't go offroad, or if you do avoid the particularly rocky terrain (groud vehicle driver speaking). I have no issues, and think it is logical to have a vehicle stuck on a rock - seem realistic to me. LOLLLLLLLL! Don't go offroad. You obviously don't drive. |

That is cute and all how people are complaining about the terrain grabbing their vehicles, but there is a lower level problem than that. The terrain grabs EVERYTHING. Don't get too close to walls in a dropsuit, you might get caught on .... something. Don't try and walk up stairs, that **** won't work, gotta jump up the stairs. Think you can walk up that hill? Think again *****, you will make it 4 or 5 steps, then get caught on something you think is just a detail in the bump map and either be stuck, or thrown down the hill.
For such a basic system as world interaction, it sure got hosed up. Either fix all the geometry in the game, or reduce the friction coefficients so we get more ~slidey~ off of things so we can actually traverse this mah fukkah. |

I don't think a lot of these players are AFKing in the MCC. They are probably sticking to the floor/walls like I've been doing.

Sorry to say your terrains aren't huge! If what we have right now is huge I am sorry to say your goals are minuscule and pathetic.
Also the SoonGäó is old and a low blow to the gamers. If you haven't realized yet you have a very pissed of gamer base out here.
And its not only vehicles its infantry that get stuck on flat terrain too. Go back to the bugs and check it out for further information.
In addition to that you are not very funny either. Stick to development or whatever you do at CCP and leave the comedy to the pros. |
