I haven't asked for a nerf in a long time cause I think things should be buffed to balance it out
this is my proposal keep the mass driver as is
however allow clones killed by mass driver to be able to be revived via nanite injector.
thats it my proposed mass driver nerf |

How about we leave the MD the **** alone and focus on the other under used weapons so that they're as effective as the small handful we're all crying about? |

Anyway, I can't heap enough scorn on these nerf MD threads. Suddenly someone's weapon choice isn't 100% dominant anymore and the might die, so they cry foul.
Yes I MD. Yes I am a logi. I toss them at people to get them away from the dude I'm trying to needle. If I get a kill, cool. If not, 25 pts for an assist and 60 for the revive. The kills I do get just make me giggle all the harder as I know I am fueling more impotent forum rage. |

Incidentally, that's still a nerf of the weapon. That's like saying, "You know, the projectile for the MD should travel half as fast - notice how I asked for no changes to the weapon at all?"

As for the instant biomassing, The Mass Driver is the Minmatar answer for the Swarm Launcher and Plasma Cannon, both of which also exhibit similar behaviors. Clones killed by either of those weapons also are biomassed instantly (and yes you can die from a swarm launcher by jumping into it)
Yes, same with anything with splash damage - grenades, remote explosives, forge guns, etc. |

I'd prefer no nerf at all but if they do decide to nerf it I hope they go this route instead of damage reduction or splash reduction. That being said, I would rather the AR and MD both get nerfed or left alone together for fairness. |

OP has serious complaint.
Explosives being able to magically render someone un-revivable, when headshots and other (much more damaging) weapons and circumstances allow someone to be picked up just fine... Is a little off.
The state that determines if someone can be revived or not should be based on overkill damage, for -every- weapon. Shots that barely kill you should always allow you to be picked up, no matter what weapon it was. Shots that do a lot of damage past 0 armor, should leave you unable to be picked up, in my opinion.
I'll leave what qualifies as 'A lot past armor" to the community though. |

MD is usually fine when used in slow armor tanked suits as you can just run away and fight against the MD users odds at range.
things change when you are in a shield tanked suit with lolspeed and lowslots with stamina mods, where you can bunny hop around for ages and just toss grenades at the enemies feet. add hit detection issues + shield recharge delay bug to this and you have a very annoying and broken suit to fight against on the battlefield.
and ressurecting MD victims is not possible. |

how about not touching with the MD. Personally I hate the MD. Others love the gun and are able to use it once again. Yes dying by it can be "annoying" for nice words but the problem IS NOT that it is OP. The problem is it does -20% to shields and +20% to armor.
So when your fluxed then MD that is smart on there part. Why shoot there MD wasting ammo at shields when you can one shot there armor. This works very well in this game because everyone is shield based.
Instead of nerfing the MD. Why not change the -20% to shields and +20% to armor to -10% shield and +5-10% armor. Yes you COULD be one shoot by a MD if your suit isnt not fitted with armor plates.
This would bring up another problem tho. By stacking on armor plates that add 115HP armor you will be moving at the speed of a normal heavy. Yes you will have alot more hp but think of this. The longer your in the field moving going from point A to point B the more damage you take. Even with an extra 460 HP to armor. It wont matter if your moving slow taking more bullets.
With the "new" armor plates that dont effect movement speed you need alot of PG. You cant give up a low for a PG upgrade because that takes away from HP. So you will need PG upgrades lvl 5 in order to run your suit and MAYBE save a low slot.
SUMMERY MD are NOT OP just annoying with flux combo +20% armor damage. Just change the +20% armor damage to +5-10% armor damage. |

Pssst, hey CPM duder. You are wrong. And dumb. Headshots prevent revives. FG hits prevent revives. Flaylocks prevent revives. Grenades prevent revives. Getting hit hard enough by an LAV prevents revives. Getting shot while on the ground prevents revives. HTFU and STFU. 1 weapon scenario out of a dozen other kill scenarios prevents a revive, and you **** and moan. THIS is why I hate the CPM, ignorant twats. |

Yep, i like the idea. Now the next issue will be being hit for the second time after killed and being biomassed any way.
On top of the above I'd think something like a 1.5 second invulnerability (not able to fire during this time) to the stabee and maybe a 50% damage reduction to the stabber during the stabbing animation. |

Mass Driver and other explosive weapons like grenades and such do their damage by tearing you to bits. With your insides on the outside of your derpsuit, body bits scattered over 20m^2 of terrain, what are the nanites going to work on? I see why explosive damage sends your jellied corpse to the bio-recycler, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 ISK. |

I think that is a fantastic idea. Being a mass driver user for months now, I of course do not want to have my favorite weapon nerfed, but I am more than understanding of the sudden cries for it. A squad of untrained mass drivers can aim in a general direction and fire 6 shots per second and death WILL happen, and it seems to me that complaints about the mass driver did not exceed reasonable numbers until flaylocks were seriously crippled by their blast radius (let's be frank, it's a sidearm and the reduction made sense.) and a lot of them switched to mass drivers for a similar feel to their weaponry. I feel like it would make a lot more sense than reducing weapon capabilities if the skills needed to even use the standard mass driver were Weaponry level 5 (no change to skill multiplier), Light weapon upgrade proficiency level 5 (no change to skill multiplier) Mass driver op. level 5 (8X multiplier), Mass driver pro. level 3 (10X multiplier). This may seem drastic in SP but I feel like the frustration had by many players justifies it. That's my bit, thanks for listening. |
