As for the instant biomassing, The Mass Driver is the Minmatar answer for the Swarm Launcher and Plasma Cannon, both of which also exhibit similar behaviors. Clones killed by either of those weapons also are biomassed instantly (and yes you can die from a swarm launcher by jumping into it)
this I learn the hard way as I jump from a doomed derp ship at 200m |

Breach doesn't need a splash buff. It could use a rate of fire buff though. |

The state that determines if someone can be revived or not should be based on overkill damage, for -every- weapon. Shots that barely kill you should always allow you to be picked up, no matter what weapon it was. Shots that do a lot of damage past 0 armor, should leave you unable to be picked up, in my opinion.
I'll leave what qualifies as 'A lot past armor" to the community though.
Pssst, hey CPM duder. You are wrong. And dumb. Headshots prevent revives. FG hits prevent revives. Flaylocks prevent revives. Grenades prevent revives. Getting hit hard enough by an LAV prevents revives. Getting shot while on the ground prevents revives. HTFU and STFU. 1 weapon scenario out of a dozen other kill scenarios prevents a revive, and you **** and moan. THIS is why I hate the CPM, ignorant twats. |

Yep, i like the idea. Now the next issue will be being hit for the second time after killed and being biomassed any way.
On top of the above I'd think something like a 1.5 second invulnerability (not able to fire during this time) to the stabee and maybe a 50% damage reduction to the stabber during the stabbing animation. |

edit: this should also apply to anything with splash damage - grenades, remote explosives, forge guns, etc. (with the exception of being inside vehicle) and this is coming from a part time forge sniper now if the body of a down clone gets shot than the clone is officiallly dead think (mortal combat finish him) head shots with any weapon would still be an insta kill
Mass Driver and other explosive weapons like grenades and such do their damage by tearing you to bits. With your insides on the outside of your derpsuit, body bits scattered over 20m^2 of terrain, what are the nanites going to work on? I see why explosive damage sends your jellied corpse to the bio-recycler, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 ISK. |

I think that is a fantastic idea. Being a mass driver user for months now, I of course do not want to have my favorite weapon nerfed, but I am more than understanding of the sudden cries for it. A squad of untrained mass drivers can aim in a general direction and fire 6 shots per second and death WILL happen, and it seems to me that complaints about the mass driver did not exceed reasonable numbers until flaylocks were seriously crippled by their blast radius (let's be frank, it's a sidearm and the reduction made sense.) and a lot of them switched to mass drivers for a similar feel to their weaponry. I feel like it would make a lot more sense than reducing weapon capabilities if the skills needed to even use the standard mass driver were Weaponry level 5 (no change to skill multiplier), Light weapon upgrade proficiency level 5 (no change to skill multiplier) Mass driver op. level 5 (8X multiplier), Mass driver pro. level 3 (10X multiplier). This may seem drastic in SP but I feel like the frustration had by many players justifies it. That's my bit, thanks for listening. |
