TBH all small turrets are pretty terrible, and militia/standard versions are nearly incapable of killing (you are better exiting the vehicle and shooting with your militia AR). |

I think they should add more DMG to be useful. Better off using missiles with its +DMG to armor and don't have to worry about overheating. |

There are small turret upgrades on the market so I assumed these worked, I take it they dont?
Also I have seen and used a STD LAV and small missles to good effect against a HAV but I have never seen anyone attempting to use small rails against a HAV dont they do like half damage on vehicles and installations? |

I like running gunner but if you just have small rails, I'm just bumming a ride. I've jumped in one HAV that had the proper setup for gunners; rear blaster and a rail gun. It was great going from the rail and destroying installations then switching seats to mow down infantry with the blaster. Even hopped out with a Forge and added some winning leverage to a couple tank fights. I really wish I had noted his name. I'd donate ISK to his vehicle funds just for doing it right and a carpooling invite. |

On my alt I use a missle turret on the front and a blaster on the back simply because I kept getting messages complaining that the turret on the front (formerly a RT.) kept overheating/was bugged because it jammed lol. So I decided to invest in small missles and with competent gunners the small blaster really helps against infantry that I miss and the missle helps a surprising amount against vehicles. I have tried small rails myself and I was never impressed with them.
The real problem with small turrets on a tank though, Is pulling up to an objective destroying everything in your path to find that neither of your gunners wish to leave the safety of your tank. Thats why I hate using a tank without corpmates around lol. |

Seems a militia forge or sniper would be better for that. No cost for the vehicle and probably more damage.

small turrets have always been and will always be useless unless CCP changes them in 1.5
Rather than being frustrated about the uselessness of small turrets i'm pissed that I HAVE to have them on my tank. Why cant i run around without small turrets on my tank? nfantry can run without a pistol or without a primary...... i might even be able to have some semblance of a realistic fit if i could get that extra pg/cpu, but no.... |

small rail VS small missles
missles have better damage +1 for them missles have better splash radius +1 missles have the same range (accelerated) missles dont overheat
rails throw dropships around with a force somewhere between a mass driver and a flaylock
in every single situation except a dropship dogfight a missle will always be a better option, and even on a dropship your better off with a missle just so that your not useless against everything that isnt a dropship.
they have absolutly zero place in the game |

Aren't small rails currently bugged? I was in a pub last Monday squaded with a Gunlogi pilot and that was his opinion. While hiding in his HAV (repping from a thrashing the reds gave) I tried out the small rail. It couldn't even hit stationary red-dots. |

im guessing he was moving? if you were both stationary then i dont know wtf is wrong with the turrets other than its accuracy is crap, but i do know if your moving they are worthless for hitting anything that isnt a huge target unless your very lucky |

Bleh shows you how often I screw around with vehicle fits and also why the new powergrid skill absolutely effing sucks.
Small actives though then again I don't fit damage mods on my vehicles because I don't have the CPU to fit any of them and can't really tone down the tank because it is militia grade gear and its hard enough to live as it is on current battlefield environment. >-<
I know there are various kinds of activities that affect heat cycling mostly though but bleh been a while since I tinkered with my vehicle fits, I just about finished lvl 2ing all my suit modules and finally getting out of militia gear infantry wise I should be starting vehicles this week thanks to the 2x so hopefully I can possibly explore more types of fits then.
Passives should still affect all stated turrets.
Either way... It may be much safer for me to start saving SP instead for 1.5 considering what might happen then and it might be much better for me to try to forget how to operate vehicles as well for that patch as well so when I do get back into them on patch day I can approach it freshly. |

Well CCP Wolfman will look at the entire shebang (Skills, Modules, Hulls, Environment, and Counters) when he does the 1.5 update. How through of a change he's not willing to share yet but is going to formulate something to you guys soon as he can. |

Well CCP Wolfman will look at the entire shebang (Skills, Modules, Hulls, Environment, and Counters) when he does the 1.5 update. How through of a change he's not willing to share yet but is going to formulate something to you guys soon as he can. super mega totally in depth changes that you'll barely even recognize them from before.
