While it is true there is more to skill up- it seems, as in eve, you get bonuses for each level. Like the The Minmatar scout gets +5% to melee AND nova knives as well as +5% dampening (i think) per level. So pretty cool anyways.

Unless something has massively changed, you'll want to be an arrmor tanked assault when you snipe (given there are still damage mods for the high slots). I am hoping the sniper mechanic has been fixed. PLZ! No auto reloading and firing randomly.
