it shouldn't be saving anything while your playing on a map. Though clearly it is read from the hard disk unless it stores the map on the memory of the PS3, which it likely does I bet. I know that's how Ridge Racer was on PSP.

I had the same problem just now. All I did before it was buy skill boosts for the assault rifles with my ISK and Skill Points, got it up to level 3. i never bought new weapons or equipment though.
