Good-ish news everyone! I fixed the problem by way of both the cleaning I had done and forcing air flow through my PS3. I've got a high velocity fan set up to force extra air though the system and that plus the repairs seems to have done the trick.

Had some guys clean a bunch of gunk out of my system and replace the thermal paste and at first I thought it worked. Then I got a few minutes in and my PS3 hard froze again. Getting it cleaned out cost a lot more then the $30 their website implied...

I'm doing a reinstall too and failing that I'm bringing it in to have it cleaned and maybe the thermal paste replaced in case that helps.

Swarm launchers were retooled to have almost no damage from splash. The militia launchers do something like 15 per rocket in splash.

Yeah I've gotten a few hard freezes and as a new bit of info I didn't have when I first made the thread every time I start the client it goes through the patch recognition process like its getting a brand new patch.
