There's not a lot wrong with heavies - I'd like to see a movement reduction whilst firing though, or maybe they have to stand still to fire on the higher tier weapons? that could b a good way to help balance the heavy spam.

Seems like the new tactic is deploy as many DS's as possible and dominate the map whilst dropping spawn pads on anything that is rectangular and higher than a small building..

The other Turrets always point north to begin with, so whichever direction you are facing - when you first flick into them, it WILL point north, then when you move it, it retains your last orientation. Enjoy.
