Right now, it's crazy. No way in hell will I be able to afford speccing into Assault and still being decent with the Plasma Cannon and other things I'll need. Have they said anything about reducing the cost to specialize?

Sorry, but a big part of Dust is figuring out how to financially support your suits/vehicles. The problem is with Tanks and their ability to profit, not the price.
