Its almost good enough for me to swap my nano for the scanner. If only it had less fitting costs. But its so useful to be able to know where the enemy is almost all the time! I just love cooking a surprise grenade for a squad that never saw me before. |

It's good, it doesn't work on an angle for some reason however, and you need advanced to make it really useful, cause no one has profile dampened to adv level. |

They are actually quite useful. Our logi runs with one and it really does help us get into a better position to deal with enemies. Definitely worth a try. |

They are good for logis and assaults but heads up to all the scouts out there - they reveal your position to the enemy radar when you use it. |

It's neat, but I feel like it should give some minimal WP reward for revealing enemies... you get a "You have been scanned" message if you're on the receiving end, so it's obviously a binary determination. My reasoning being that you're giving up the WP you'd get from a nanohive or nanite injector, you're making yourself temporarily vulnerable and you're helping your team (let's assume for the sake of argument it's working properly). |

No war points for simply scanning an enemy, but war points if a scanned enemy is killed in a timely fashion. |

I welcome every change that broadens the options available in the game beyond run forward with an automatic rifle.
I also welcome opening a post from Cat Merc that doesn't just dump a pile of sour QQ flavoured candy in my lap. Keep it up! |

Thought it was good, but it turns out to be very unreliable and doesn't really benefit somebody trying to stay sneaky. |

If that's the case none of the players I have scanned have ever reacted on that info, I literally stood not 15 meters from someone and scanned the back of their head a couple of times just to at least get a reaction before I pulled the trigger on my scrambler pistol.
e: They never even budged.
But yeah: I think we can all agree that WP rewards (+10 seems appropriate) for kills where the victim is under the effect of your scan is desired. |

I like them. They come in handy before you put down an orbital. The only thing I miss is some sort of warpoint gains for it. |

It's a nice piece of equipment but I find myself getting slim to no WP with it while my team rakes in the points. It needs some assist points like in other games when you spot an enemy that a team mate kills. |

I'd explain some of the misconceptions here, but my corpmates think that's a bad idea.
Let me tell you this though. Took me around 15-20 games with an advanced scanner to totally realize how they work. Now they're like easy mode.
As for what the enemy sees... well, that's one of those things I'm not supposed to talk about. = ) |

The Active Scanner is one of thy best tool for scouts tied with drop uplinks at the moment. I can attest to this as a dedicated scout shottie, it allows you to set up ambushes with perfection because it even tells you which way they are facing. Gives you enough detail to literally walk right in the middle of an enemy trench and take them all out.
Never had issues with it revealing my position, I've done spammed this behind corners surrounded by enemies less than 20m away to not have any of them respond, waiting till they turned their back to break out. |
