Create a heavy suit fit with sniper rifle (not charge, they suck to shoot with) and SMG. After some practice you'll be dropping people like flies at distance and have decent defence with the SMG.

The map isn't supposed to be full of activity everywhere, this is much more of a strategic shooter. Just wait until marauders get siege modules and we can drop down turrets. Currently everyone swarms around objectives as if this was a normal FPS.
