Okay, played 3 battles and got 1x "the glitch", which coincided with 1x headshot. In this extremely scientific process of exploration and elimination, I expertly conclude that it does indeed happen with headshots. QED etc

That actually looks well-balanced. As others have suggested however, take a good look at the Dropsuit Upgrades tree and consider dropping some points into Armour Upgrades (and possibly shield upgrades). These will increase your base dropsuit value...

There's a minor sound bug when killing an enemy with the Scrambler Rifle Assault (full auto) variant. As the last few hits strike the target just before death, the sounds "muffle" as if the character has just plunged into water. It doesn't happen ...
