Modules, Shield Extenders, Armor Hardeners, Armor Repair Units, Skill Books. There are plenty of ways to extend and add Shield and Armor points to your dropsuits. No need to buff suits, we already can do it in game.

Rail Gun turrets are meant to be slow. Kinda like the forge gun and other railgun applications. If they were fast, it would require vast amounts of energy to wield and move. And a turret installation has to be a certain size in order to drop down...
