So right now we only have the Amarr heavies, which means that normally you should run plates and damage mods instead of shield mods...later on we'll get the other racial variants... But is there a proper way to fit a heavy to focus on shields rig...

He could have started hitting you in the head with his automatic sniper rifle once he actually started tracking you. Thats always a possibility. Then again I always die the same speed against ARs no matter if I have 400 ehp or 900.
