I actually learned this when I joined a squad and their was already a pilot in the squad so I just decided to man the turret in his dropship ....trust me I'm not a gunner, I usually snipe if I'm not flying, but the pilot and I racked up a combined...

Try doing ambush battles to practice sniping because most people will be rushing in cqc so no one will be looking for a sniper.....also it's a quick way to get isk :)
