Hello,
So I noticed last night that with the new patch came some changes that were not listed in the patch notes. I am wondering if the following is intentional or not, and if not if it will be corrected.
So, using Remote Explosives last night, I noticed that when switching to them it take much longer to become responsive. By responsive I mean if I want to detonate, throw one out, ect, and I switch to them, it takes several seconds before I can actually throw an explosive or detonate one previously laid. It takes about twice as long now.
Has this been the case for all equipment? I only notice it with RE's because it's a big deal with RE's and that's the only equipment I currently use.
Was this intentional? I did not see this mentioned in the patch notes. If intentional, then it is definitely a nerf when it comes to RE, but probably other equipment as well albeit to a lesser degree.
I always thought stealth nerf's were simply player's over-imagination, but I am definitely not imagining RE's taking longer to become "ready".
To be clear, I did NOT notice it taking any longer to arm the explosive, but taking longer to be "usable" in the terms of switching to the item to detonate or throw one. Also, switching between primary and secondary weapons was just as fast as ever if not faster. It only affects my RE's. |

Yeah, I wondered if I should put this there. Figured a moderator would correct it if need be. I did want to get some feedback on if this is the case for other equipment as well, (repairers, injectors, ect).

It's not just the RE, all the equipment has this delay now, try pressing O to revive someone, it sits there and thinks for about a full second before plunging the needle, this is much needed time when you're rezzing someone. |

I don't happen to have any video handy unfortunately. With the plethora of RE users I am hoping someone may be able to provide us one, (I am being sneaky at work atm).
I would say it probably takes approximately 4 full seconds to "pull out" the RE and/or detonator before I can throw or detonate one. Whereas before it was about 2 seconds. I will switch to it in the radial menu, (default button setup), and that is as responsive as ever, but then I will literally have to wait for him to pull it out before I can detonate, even if I am spamming the detonate button.
Not a huge difference I know, but it actually makes a pretty big impact when you are spawning in and trying to blow up your RE to prevent A node from being hacked, (for example), those extra two seconds make a ton of difference. Also when trying to drop one strategically in midst of battle.
As much as I use RE's, I can honestly say it immediately impacted me and how I play the role and therefore was noticed on the very first game. |

most noticeable with revives, I figured it was an intentional stealth nerf.
And yes, stealth nerfs DO happen, just not nearly as often as people think they do. |

No video equipment here either for my PS3 anyway...
I'd say there's a delay of something on the order of a quarter second, and it does seem to affect other equipment too.

God if this is true then goodbye RE users and needle revives.
Remotes will be pull out wait 4secs, deploy, wait 2secs for activation then be able to use. Or watch as obj gets hacked because you can't pull out the detonator because 4secs is 1/2 a hacking time (nearly).
Needles will be 'well can't revive that guy because the enemy is a few seconds out... sorry buddy'. Or pull out needle wait for it, WAIT for it, drop the needle and die to fire |

Unfortunately that's exactly how it was last night for me and my RE's. Other posters have confirmed this on their equipment too such as injectors. Several objectives got hacked last night because I was not used to the new delay =-(
I still got the kills, but just a second too slow to prevent the hack. I also stopped using them "offensively" as it was simply too tedious to switch, wait, drop one, wait, then detonate before they notice me or move.
(To clarify, sometimes I use RE's offensively if an enemy lets me sneak up on them or a group of them. Since I am a Scout I prefer to avoid any engagement including ones where everything is in my favor as I can still lose due to low survivability). Since SG is not a OHK for anything other than std or scout suits RE's are typically the way to go as you can die before your second shot. This option was pretty much eliminated by this new delay therefore I am changing my tactics for the time being and hoping it's not permanent. |

I would say that the same is true for the nanite injector - it is taking about 2-3 seconds to use it, instead of being instantly read to go. |

Confirming this as well. Switching to an RE nearly got me killed when it was taking an additional 2-3 seconds just to swap to the detonation screen. |

I would also like to add switching to RE will take you out of sprint whereas it did not before. If your sprinting full speed and switch to RE, you will be walking even though you are still pressing sprint. Just noticed this. |

With the active scanner it will not work most of the time when u first switch to it. U have to take it out, switch back to weapon then take it out again to get it to work. Tested in multiple games last night. |

yep i noticed the others as well but active scanner is really bad, you simply cannot use it sometimes when you take it out, no matter how long you seem to wait. |

Not gonna let it go. Has this issue been fixed yet? Haven't seen anything in the patch notes, and honestly, have stopped playing due to Scouts sucking so badly. Now reading after this patch and it seems like you guys now have tons more to work on, and since I haven't heard anything about this I guess this is now the new normal?
I am not sure what to think. Please drop a line and comment on this when you get a chance....... I understand you guys are busy but it has been a month and several days since this bug was introduced.... |

I'd also like to add something here:
You see a blueberry is down and go to revive him, press O and an enemy appears, many times if I try to switch to my firearm it brings it up for a fraction of a second and then takes out the nanite injector again and you have to switch once more to be able to fire.
Very annoying and has cost me a few suits and kills. |

I am bumping my own thread. Yep, completely against forum rules. Are you noticing? Do Devs come here anymore? Can I please get any friggen update to this issue? Going on six weeks since your last reply guys, and guess what? Still not on the "problems we are aware about list".
I have always been cordial since the beginning of Beta, but not going to let this issue just "fade" away simply because so many other critical items need repair. Could use a follow up guys, wtf? Good thing this isn't a customer service based industry. Go ahead and tell me how my rant doesn't help anything, then go look at how friggen patient I have been about just getting an update.....not a fix, an update.
Maybe by being an @sshat I can actually get a response? IDK. Not like you leave me any real options as being friendly and personable has obviously failed. You want people to give feedback in a constructive way then start answering posters who posts in a constructive manner. I have seen Dev posts on negative threads all month and I can't get a ******* update? You train your consumer base by your responses, so reap what you ******* sow then and don't let me ever catch you bitching about how people rant at you; because you have trained your consumer base that to get a reaction you have to cause a big ******* scene. |

I don't know if this got changed in 1.4, but the way it worked in 1.3 was that every time you take out the equipment, it "reloads" before you can use it, I do not believe this way the case pre-1.3, this is where the "delay" comes from, I do not know if this is intentional, but this is the "equipment lag" everyone is referring to |

Yes it was not there before 1.3. I don't believe it was intentional due to the responses I did get. The main thing is they no longer acknowledge it. No word on the public announcements, no update here......
They did acknowledge this at one point in this very thread but then silence like they are just hoping it will go away. Not only does it not "feel" right but it also gets me killed. IMO it is detrimental to the game in general, as no one minded how it worked previously, but definitely mind how it works now. |

Equipment taking too long to deploy is an issue, switching from a nanohive to a gun should be fast and when you lay all your nanos you shouldn't be switching to your next equipment in line but rather to your main weapon. |

Much agreed but I cannot seem to get any response although I have even sent in a direct email trying to get some acknowledgement that this has not fallen off the radar.
Its like trying to get a wall to acknowledge your existence it seems.
Im not asking for a timeline or a fix even, just a "hey we are aware of it and still working on fixing this", or even a "hey, we noticed it but we decided to say screw it and leave it".
You know, an update to your paying customers. I personally have spent just over 50 on this game, would be nice to get an update after 2 months that you haven't forgotten about this......
BTW, as frustrated as I get about Scouts sucking, or AR dominance, or anything at all in the game; being blatantly ignored is the ONE ******* way to turn me from polite and friendly to an asshat as it's harder to ignore an asshat |

Yeah I saw that reply, and that reply was almost immediate and was much appreciated. The problem is that was quite some time ago and it has never been mentioned since in any patch notes, and no new updates. Going on a coupla months with this which is pretty unacceptable to not even get a word. What random employe is just changing the remote mine code without telling anyone? It seems like you would of caught a bug like remote mines can now stick to thing. Honestly that's my assumption. If you take everything into account, this thread and your communication with the community. The fact that remote mines stick to things is an unexpected bug that you are going to remove in the next patch.

Is that your game? Are remote mines no longer going to stick to things in the 1.8 patch, and you won't even post it in the patch notes? Is it becuase you don't care what we think?

Yes all equipment seems to take longer to get out to use as well as being slower to respond to commands telling it to activate. Last night I spent about 20 seconds trying to lock someone that was not moving with my rep tool (I know I said I'd never use one but someone turned me into a believer).

BTW, as frustrated as I get about Scouts sucking, or AR dominance, or anything at all in the game; being blatantly ignored is the ONE ******* way to turn me from polite and friendly to an asshat as it's harder to ignore an asshat A dev did comment on this on page 1/2 I think, go to the first dev post, they know and are "looking into it". Sometimes it takes time to comment and rather than spend time commenting a dev will try to fix it quick. +1 to CCP's timely fixes Yeah I saw that reply, and that reply was almost immediate and was much appreciated. The problem is that was quite some time ago and it has never been mentioned since in any patch notes, and no new updates. Going on a coupla months with this which is pretty unacceptable to not even get a word. I find communications with the CPMs to be more helpful and quick than with CCP, perhaps our representatives could look into the issue. The fastest way to get in touch is through Skype, maybe start there.

Just checking in on this bug from 1.3, looks to still be an issue and looks like I was correct in that they would just ignore it off the table by introducing more important problems.
